I have a litter of kittens who are 6weeks tomorrow, their mom is still around but she barely lets them feed. All of them eat but this one little kitten who refuses to eat caned food or bottled milk (kitty formula). She plays and everything else. I've seen her poop like once so I'm not sure what's going on in that arena, but she will drink water. She seems to be thriving but I'm concerned about her not wanting to eat anything but her mothers milk. Any suggestions on what to do???? I when I feed the other kittens I mix soft food with kitty formula, hard food with kitty formula, soft and hard with kitty formula and hard with water or hard with soft and water.....I want to wean them off of so much soft food so I mix in the hard. the other kittens eat until they are fat and full she just screams to be let out of the tub.....That's where they all eat for easy clean up purposes.

Is mom still 100% inside with the kittens? Just want to make sure she is physically around them. She may also be in heat now, which could make her distant.

You could try baby food for this stubborn little one. Gerber makes some options that have just meat as ingredients.

No she goes out through out the day. I think she may have another litter in the works......sad face......I was planning on getting her neutered after she weaned this litter.......anyway my mom put some hard kitty food in their little box, we figured if they get hungry enough they will eat it. I tried again today with the kitten and when the rest ate she just screamed. I put her back in the box and let the others eat until they had their fill. When they were all cleaned up and put back in their home I heard some crunching. Loe and behold the black kitty was eating the hard food.....She must have been starving because she never eats anything but her mom's milk. Hopefully she will continue to eat and maybe eat with her brothers and sisters. Thank you for the quick response!!!

You should get her spayed now. Back to back litters are very hard on mom!

Agreed.  Please get mom spayed now!  This is much too hard on her body.

I agree! Hopefully she isn't though!!! Especially since she barely wanted to be bothered by this last liter.

Do you need help finding a low cost clinic? She more than likely is pregnant, so you do need to have her spayed as soon as possible if you want to end the pregnancy.
