Meaning contractions should start again soon?
Yes, so it was meant.

But what do you mean by sleeping?    Is she unconscious or is she sleeping?  Or perhaps even just trying to rest with eyes closed?

I myself dont believe its possible to sleep with labor going on.   So either its not labor, or she isnt sleeping, OR its something serious.

OK, so she isnt comatose. Probably concentrates on her body, tries to relax.

Observe, the situation is touchy, but if it doenst go worse it should proceed normally.  So to speak.

Prelabor stages may be quite long.  Its the active labor, the active pushing, which is typically much shorter than with humans.

So even though she's already had her first the pre labor could start over again?

Labor will have to commence again at some point for her to birth her next kitten. Since she seems okay, continue waiting this out.

Do you have KMR? If so, please give mom a dish to drink. The calcium helps with panting.

If mom is laboring and taking it out on her kitten, you can move the kitten away for a bit, but keep the kitten warm with a heating pad under a blanket, or a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel. If the baby is away from mom for more than an hour or two, it will need to either nurse or be given 1-2 mLs of kitten formula with a syringe.

Yes, at least one because I can feel something in there. And isn't a litter of one kitten rare

If she hasn't had a kitten by tomorrow, I suggest you take her to the vet tomorrow for an x-ray or ultrasound to make sure there really is another kitten. Her uterus could just be swollen from pregnancy.

If there is, the vet can make sure it's fully developed and ready to be born. If so, she can be given a shot of oxytocin to stimulate labor.

How is mom acting today? Have you given her any KMR?

I don't have any KMR. She's acting fine, laying around still but other than that fine.

Okay, are you able to see the vet tomorrow?

Or you can wait it out as long as she seems fine.

Seeing the vet will answer the question though. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Kitten number two was born but was a still born. It didn't look fully developed. And there was no amniotic sac
