My cat, tho i knew was pregnant due to the hars lump on the side of her bloated belly, gave birth extremely surprisingly while i was at work this morning to just one kitten and it was still born.
She is acting nornal and eating, she was in the window when i came home. She isnt bleeding and her belly is small and soft, i feel no lumps.

Is it possible she was pregnant with just one baby?

My boyfriend said the kitten looked very fully developed.

I am so shocked and confused, she was acting so normal last night and now she dosnt seem to be in any distress.

Upon further inspection, it seems she still is very slightly buldged to one side, but very soft. Its hard to yell if it is sore because she has always hated beong touched on the belly and sides. But i think there may be another.
If the other kitten is also dead, would it slow down labour time? I have the next two days off work so i will ve watching her bery closely.

Yes, it does appear that she may still be pregnant. I'm sorry the kitten was stillborn. It will be interesting to see what happens. Keep us posted!

As said, there may be another one.  If she seems oK, no troubles, no distress, you arent in any immediate need of a vet.

Do observe closely, but you can wait and see.

She is surely in some tight nice hidey hole, they can be surprising small.  I guess she is now delivering the next kitten...

She sounds close to delivering! My cat did the same thing when delivering. Look out for contractions and any discharge.

*NOTE* reason i moved her is due to the cabinet being where we keep out cleaning products amd chemicals

Breathing becoming more intense. She is sleeping, or trying to, nit acting distressed in anyway.last time she delivered she kept eye contact with me through it all, and since she had the stillborn yesterday at the foot of my bed, im assuming she will want to know i am near, i moved her into the dinning room by our kitches, where she mad the nest and had her last babies, and am sitting by her.
