Hi guys. I am currently geeding 50/50 wet dry to my 2, 3 month old female kittens. Koko & Luna.

I was feeding nature's variaty instinct (both kibble and can) but it is turning a bit cost prohibiting. (Where I live a 5.5oz of instinct can is about $3.5usd plus there is only chicken flavor) so to make it a little more within budget I am mixing instinct and fancy feast (which in my country all of the flavors have wheat gluten) and also bring variety.

So I was in Petco and came across a brand in the same price range as fancy feast but grain free called Livelong by PH&S Pet Care.

Has anybody tried it? Any comments?

Also is it ok to mix pet food brands?
Thanks guys

Hi @EJ x

I haven't used that food but it doesn't look so bad to me. I suggest you buy a few cans and see what your girls think of it. If they like it and it's within your budget you could add it to your rotation.

Yes, it's fine to mix brands. I have several different brands of wet and dry that I feed to my cats It's good to feed different brands as it stops the cats from getting too fussy and means you always have an alternative if you can't get their regular food for some reason.

Hopefully someone will be along to tell you what their cats thought of Livelong soon.

I always mix brands. I want my cats to eat as wide a variety of foods as they will. One of my cats is a fussy eater, so having various brands on hand helps. It also helps with the budget as we mix the cheaper and more expensive ones.
