I'm just wondering about my foster girl, Hana; she's had a litter, they're going onto be adopted hopefully, and I'm looking after until she gets a forever home.

She's got mastitis and is very thin, she's not eating much but is eating. She'll be spayed in just under a fortnight, they're waiting for her milk to dry up, she still has milk.

I've never dealt with a cat like this before, I'm just wondering if there's anything I should expect or look out for? Is she still awash with hormones? If so how would that affect her and my other two.

My two have met her and she's spent some time having supervised free run of the flat but my little boy cat has no cat manners (will sit on her bed and play with her toys, doesn't understand why she isn't immediately friendly with him) and my little girl cat is wary but of course it's early days. Hana has the strongest reactions out of the three.

Hana's very friendly to me and is trying to claim me, although does try to hug me with claws out, she's supposedly not more than a year old so still pretty much a kitten herself.

So just to know how to keep everyone happy if I need to know or do anything.

Thank you for fostering! Is she on antibiotics for the mastitis? You can also put a warm compress on her nipples to help with pain. I'm wondering if part of this pain is from hurting.

She's been treated, I think it's just the end of it as she only has a little milk left and I wasn't given anything for it. I checked just now and she's actually eaten all her wet food for the first time. She's only been here a couple of days though.

How hot can cats get? It's at least 30°C here and feels hotter because of humidity. She doesn't react as if she's in pain when you pick her up.
