Hi everyone. My name is Billie Jo and let me be quite frank here: I have never been an animal lover (meaning, I like dogs and such, but never wanted to own a dog). Let me pet them from afar. I knew that if I ever gave in to getting a pet, it would be a kitten. My entire family has dogs; no cat lovers. But, my sweet daughter knew that deep down and one day, I would get a cat. So, I just moved and my husband is on the road a lot. I now work from home. My first day in our new home, my daughter popped in and surprised me with this sweet kitty and it was "love at first sight". She thought a kitten would be great company for me. She brought all the new kitty fixings: kitty litter, food, play toys, scratch tree (post) and well, I had all sorts of boxes laying around from the move. She loved those right away. I watched her play and check out her new surroundings. I took this picture of her and immediately knew that her name would be "Sami" (after my brother, Sammy, who passed away 8 years ago). The picture of her looking up was peaceful & serene and reminded me of him. I absolutely love her to pieces. It is definitely taking some getting used to but that is not a bad thing. I couldn't imagine one day without her now. She is certainly "family". Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi" and I am excited to be here, learn more about cats and to get to know everyone.
