People will just find new titles.   I can't stand click bait stuff.  I either don't click, or if I do, I post what the link is about in the comments so that others hopefully won't click.

I think it depends on whether the bait delivers. I don't mind a clever title that makes you click, as long as it delivers the promise it carries. Stupid articles that do nothing but try to shock you with stupid information, now that is a pet peeve of mine. They always use clickbaits but there's nothing but stupid information in them (did I use the word "stupid" already? 
). Like "this one fruit cures cancer better than chemotherapy" nonsense. I definitely don't click those but my Mom occasionally does and I get them from her via email
