I Just Adopted 2 kittens that were abandoned by their mother. I have a few questions scince I have never owned a cat before....
Am I feeding them enough??
I feed them 1 can of soft food mixed with a cup of kitten hard food a day.. is that enough??
Also they seem to play fight ALOT...nothing serious but should I try to seperate them or just let them go at it??
Also one is a boy and the other is a girl....how old before I have to worry about them trying to "get down"??
Thanks :)

How old are they? Leave food out all the time and let them eat what they want, they've lot of growing to do.
Play fighting is fine, you'd only need to separate them if there's a lot of noise.
Around 4-5 months but get them done as soon as you can.

And enjoy!

Hi and welcome to TCS.  Please continue to post any new questions you have here. Also if you could put up a picture of the kittens someone here may be able to give you an idea of how old they are. If you need help with how to post the picture then let us know and someone will be able to help you.

You can keep giving them the can of wet food every day.  You do want to give them access to the dry food all the time. Let the kittens eat as much as they want to.  They have a lot of growing to do and need to be able to eat whenever they want to.  Are you feeding them kitten food?  Adult cat food does not always have enough calories and nutrients for young kittens.  Some foods are all stages though and will say that somewhere on the package.  The food I feed my cats is an all stages food.

Play fighting is part of kitten socialization so unless they are making a ton of  unusually loud noise that sounds like screaming then let them have fun.  You only need to separate them if they are trying to hurt each other.  You would be able to tell if this is happening.  You would notice changes in the volume and amount of noise.  You would also notice changes in their body language in addition to the noise.

Some vets will spay and neuter kittens based on their weight versus their ages.  If the kittens were abandoned by their mother it might be a good idea to take them to the vet for a check-up,  The vet would be able to tell you how old they are and how much they weigh.  This is useful information to have so that you can make sure that they are eating enough to continue growing.  Also sometimes abandoned kittens may have health issues that you can not see yourself.  These issues can usually be treated easily and are not expensive to treat when caught early. Any new cat or kitten I have ever adopted has always been taken to the vet for an exam.

If you provide more information about where you are located someone here may be able to help you find a low-cost vet.  Also some vets offices will do a free first time exam for new clients.
