Is this 'herbal sedative' safe for cats?

Hi everyone!

My mother has bought some strange drops for our Siamese cat, who's been living with us for ten days. The drops are supposed to have a 'calming' effect on cats--an advantage in her eyes, for ours has been super active and vocal at nights despite getting a lot of exercise during the daytime. The drops contain the following ingredients. Perhaps someone here knows whether this combination is safe?

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

- Valeriana officinalis--Valerian

- Leonurus quinquelobatus Gilib--I guess it's not very different from Lenurus cardiaca, or motherwort?
- Humulus lupulus--Hop? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humulus_lupulus

- Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi--Baikal scullcap? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutellaria_baicalensis

Herbs and cats can be iffy, there's a lot that just isn't known about how cats react to them, and many herbs that are safe for people and dogs are known to be toxic to cats.

Aside from that, I personally think giving a cat any kind of sedative without a good reason is a bad idea. Siamese cats are active and vocal by nature. This is not a reason to medicate them.

Thank you for your response. Similar thoughts and concerns prompted me to make this thread. I'll keep it out of my cat's reach.

I would, however, appreciate any information regarding the effects that the aforementioned herbs might have on cats, as I tave a keen interest in herbogy.
