Vet Clinic Screwed Up Antibiotic Prescription

My (stray) cat was recently prescribed a liquid antibiotic (Clindamycin) for a fairly deep wound. The prescription label on the bottle says to give 1 ml twice a day for 14 days. Here it is at day 6 and I just realized that this particular medicine contains 20 ml of liquid according to the bottle. So it only contains 10 days worth, not 14. Is this something I should be concerned about? I don't know if they (the vet or tech) didn't realize it only contains 10 days worth or if they're bad at math. Considering most antibiotics are given for a minimum of 14 days, I'm not sure why any company would make a 10 day antibiotic.

What do you all suggest I do?

I'd call the vet and confirm how many days you are to give the antbiotic and the exact dose and frequency. Then let the vet know that the bottle you were given only has enough medicine for 10 days and see what he / she says.

My vet will not give me the 2 bottles it usually takes and I have to come back for the second bottle when done with the first.

Definitely call and confirm, because it is never a good idea to stop a round of antibiotics part way through.

The dosing is correct. 1 ml twice a day. I called the day after it was prescribed to ask about that.

What's making me mad is that they gave me the Clindamycin because I asked for something low in price and it was the cheapest one there. The Convenia injection was around $40 (wouldn't have done that if it was $15), Clavamox was around $35, and the Clindamycin was $20. If I was supposed to do 14 days of Clindamycin, then that would be $40 for two bottles and not the cheapest option.

I don't know, it seems to me if I'm supposed to do 14 days, then they should give me a new bottle for free. They're the ones that screwed up, not me.

I'm wondering something, would finishing the other four days with amoxicillin work? I'll certainly ask the vet or tech about this, but what do you all think? I'm just curious because I actually happen to have a few leftover pills (50 mg each).

I think (just an experienced but unprofessional opinion) that when it is a site wound of the skin, even when deep, the healing is faster then an infection that's internal. I've seen my cat's infected wound heal very fast after only three days of antibiotic use.
