claw care

I'm new to this site im having some problems with my cat. He came in the other night a little beat up. When we were looking him over we found a piece of skin or something coming from his nail bed. Anyone have any clue on what this is?

Hmmm, it almost looks like a skin tag, but I've never seen one there!   Does it seem to bother him?  Can you send a picture to your Vet and see what they think?  BTW, if he was a little beat up, maybe he needs a Vet visit anyway, just to make sure he doesn't have any abscesses going on.  Those tend to fester under the skin and turn into bigger problems. 

We did end up finding a puncture hole next to the ear and did bring him in. Toby is very healthy and it was just a growth. It's nothing to worry about the said. They did on the other hand treat the puncture hole. He will be fine thank you for your feedback.
