plants for cats?

Ive read that you can keep plants around for the cats to nibble on and that it aids in digestion and hairballs? I thought cats only ate plants to throw up (grass) and I dont want that. I had alot of plants when I got Sam but most were poisonous to cats and I had to give them away. What kinds of plants do you cat-experts have, if any?
