Are your cats spayed and neutered? And what was the convenia for? Did they suspect infection?

There are lots of low cost spaying / neutering clinics in NJ. Do you need help finding one?

Thank you for caring!!

YES, both NEUTERED AND SPAYED. hope that helps prevent interaction between all three.
I don't know about convenia. I know tomcat has a one inch scab on her neck from fight a week ago. Maybe convenia is used for infection on her neck. Convenia is skin infection drug. I just looked up dictionary.

Yes the injection was probably for the skin infection. Do you want help finding somewhere affordable to neuter the tom cat?

Yes, I appreciate that! Hope it's within 10 miles. It won't be easy.

Here is a site to help with low cost spay/neuter

If you give the zip code or town you live in we can help you find a location.

You might want to start looking around for the cat.  He is going to need to find the litter box and some food/water.  I am sure he is very scared.  If you don't find him before bedtime, you might want to leave food and water out for him.  I would be sure your resident cats are confined somewhere so the new cat feels safe to come out.  He is going to need at least some water.

I try to feed him water besides food during first three weeks. he seems don't like water. He does not drink it at all. He just gobbled up food.
I will put liter box and bowl of water in the blocked kitchen site tonite before 10. Cat food is already there.
Thank for the reminder.

OP said the vet they went to today is in Westfield, NJ, so that must be close. I can take a look when I get home if you don't get to it first!

I found one. Hillside,NJ 7 miles. Thank for the link. Hope he becomes visible within 48 hours. I will be sure he has water and Purina food. Hope I can outwit him later with trap. He may get wise.

My resident cats are now confined outside. Nice and cool night air. They do many times. Tonite they will stay outside all night. First thing tomorrow morning I will check purina in bowl in kitchen. Also water. If the bowl indicates something, then definitely he is in the basement. The kitchen has a door to the stairway downstairs to basement.

5:30 AM EST report: The bowl with purina is emptied gave an indication that he is in basement.
The residential cats confined outside are inside living room.

So glad he ate during the night.  That is a good sign.  You will want to check around to see where he is using the bathroom if he has not used the litter box.

At last I saw him sitting on microwave oven in kitchen at 7 am. He is quiet. I tried to approach him, but he gritted his teeth. So I guess I wait a couple of days.

The kitchen is smelly already. I opened three Windows and sprayed with Lysol. I think the smell is from urine on wood. The litter box is on kitchen floor below the microwave oven. He may never saw litter box before.

You can put a layer of dirt and dry leaves on top of the litter.  It is what he is used to using outside and it will help him understand that's what the box is for.

Clean up any urine with a good enzyme cleaner (Nature's Miracle is one).

Also, careful of open windows.  He may be able to bust through a screen.

The smell of tom cat urine will go away after he is neutered.  Yet it is essential you clean really well or the scent will just come right back.

As mentioned by Ondine, put a layer of soil and leaves in with the litter.  If that trick doesn't work, you can purchase some Dr. Elsey's Litter Attract.  Most pet stores carry this.  You can mix it in with the regular litter.  It has special herbs that will attract him.  Also you if you find any urine, you can sop it up with a paper towel and bury it in the litter box.  The same for poop.  This will attract him to his own scent.

Also be sure you have enough litter boxes.  Your other two kitties might not be so happy to share with him especially with the strong urine scent.  I would be sure to get another litter box or two.

Now I have Nature's Miracle and Dr. Elsey's Litter Attract.
This is not the reason for this writing. Tom Cat is by the screen window feeling breeze. Quiet.
He shows tenseness, anger when I come near him. I believe he is a good cat but does not understand.
I am giving a thought of sending him to Angry Management class. I kidded myself.

Is there a training to turn him into house pet. Chances may be slim. I know Petsmart only groom dogs, etc. Not cats at all.

I will give him one full week or possibly two to see how things go.

He needs to be neutered before you can see how relaxed he will get. Then it will take about a month before the aggressive hormones leave his body.

It is hard to believe. I will see what I can do tomorrow. Trap him with food inside like I did before, but it will be on kitchen floor. I will call neuter and spay clinic in hillside, nj tomorrow and see what they have to say.
