We have a male cat (about 4 mo.) who has smelly mucus coming out from both nostrils in his nose. He is extremely active and playful, but whenever he runs up to nuzzle my face I wipe off the snot. It's clear but slightly tinted a yellowish color occasionally. Since its been happening for a few days now I am starting to get worried. What should I do?

you can ring your vet and see if they want to see him.

you can run a steam shower and sit in the room with door shut with cat and try this 3 times a day to break up mucous. you can feed wet food to give more water to help flush out this virus or whatever it is.

you can get some lysine and add to wet food-this helps with feline herpes virus which 90% of cats have been exposed to-its like a cold virus that can come out from stress or other issue-the lysine stops the rna virus from replicating. its an amino acid that is not stored in the body. you can get it on Amazon called NOW! its a powder that you dissolve in water and add to wet food or babyfood. they will need 1/4 tsp a day and although this doesn't help if its bacterial infection it may stop the snots and runny eyes. all 3 of my cats have herpes and sometimes they get runny eyes and goopy noses,. I try to add lysine daily but I haven't lately.

Hoping that this virus runs its course. sometimes it takes 7 to 21 days for the virus to get lost. Hoping this helps!
