Around the age that your kittens are, they become able to pee and poop on their own, yet are a little young for litter training.

I think this weekend you may want to introduce kitten-sized litter pans, and start putting them in before and after meals instead of stimulating them. They may or may not catch on, as they are not even 4 weeks yet.

In the meantime, you'll be changing their bedding daily for a couple of weeks.

What color is mom's diarrhea? Has anything changed in her diet? How much KMR does she drink? Too much can cause diarrhea.

Do you have any probiotics in the house? If so, sprinkle some into her wet food. It will help her gut.

Her poo was kind of light colored. The same light brown as the wet chicken food she prefers. No diet changes at all and she will not drink kmr anymore so I stopped giving it to her. I don't have any probiotics but can get some tomorrow. Is there a preferred kind or brand that I should look for?

Bene-bac is good. Pet stores should carry it. I use Phillips probiotics capsules from Walmart.

You can also give her plain yogurt, and plain, boiled chicken and white rice with broth.

A teaspoon of plain, canned pumpkin helps firm up stools as well.

Her system is hopefully just adjusting. See if it clears up. If not, I'd see the vet Saturday.

Ok... I will get some probiotics and keep watching her. I will definitely get her to the vet if needed. Thanks a lot!

99.5 to 102.5 is normal, so she may have a slight fever.

How many times has she thrown up?

Twice that I have noticed but she has had diarrhea several more times and not in the litter box, on the floor. I looked at her vulva and there is no discharge but her mammaries are feeling warm. I suspect mastitis. I am calling the vet as soon as he opens in the morning. She ate while I was at work today but has not since I got home. She wasnt even interested in her treats which she usually goes crazy for. Something is wrong :(

No emergency vet... I live in a small rural town.

Can you put a warm, damp compress on her mammaries?

If she is unable to nurse, you'll need to feed the kittens.

Sigh ... It will have to wait until morning. Hopefully the compress will help. She sounds miserable. Poor mama kitty.

The vet can give her an anti-emetic and an anti-diarrheal. He can give fluids if necessary, and antibiotics.

I'm glad you'll be there because you'll be feeding the kittens until she's better. Do stimulate and clean them for now.

I hope she feels better soon! Please keep us posted! [emoji]128528[/emoji]
