Hi,  I have a question~ what age do kittens start to show affection to their human-parents? The kittens purr when nursing and groom their mom-cat and such, but it seems hard to kind of bond with them at this age (38 days old) as they only seem to be interested in playing with each other or with toys. (They don't really like being handled nor cuddled, but we try to do it every day for them to get accustomed to it. The scratches on my arm proves it.)

In a way, that is normal - many kittens gets really warmed up to their owners first when older, even adults.  Before that many dont want much cuddles, happy woth perhaps a stroke or two...  And as you say, as they have other kittens to interact and play with...

But usually the caretaker do notice some attachment.  Even if it a group.

How long have you had them?  Do you know anything of the background?   I mean, there is a possibility the batch is coming from a momma from herself wasnt sociale,

I guess you are fostering them for some rescue group or some shelter?  Its not impossible the momma was homeless because she wasnt sociale, she choosed to not attach to humans...

Difficult to know if you dont know the background story, and its "just" to fight on for you.

Brush them often, perhaps using a toothbrush...   Another variation is rather strong brushing along the whole body... Even a couple of minutes, so not just a few strokes.

Carry them at your chest, singing and talking - not too long so they wiggle out..

Talk much with a friendly voice, make friendly sounds...

play often using Da Bird or similiar....

Thank you for your reply. Their mama was a stray and we took her in a couple months before her due date. So we gave been with them since day 1. Mama cat is very affectionate, social and is awesome with people.

Thank you very much for your tips~ I will definitely try them out.
