My cat seems to be very pregnant but I'm not sure when she is due . she is clingy and meows a lot and then gets aggressive. She is also sleeping all day and most of the night can someone please give me an idea of how close she may be to labor?

I can only give you advice on my cat today! For the past 2 weeks a have been seeing the kittens moving, all she was doing was eating and sleeping! She would let me stroke her for a minute max then get up and walk away from me. Today I came home and she followed me int8 my bedroom, started eyeing up and open drawer whilst miaowing at me then followed me downstairs where she started to push on the dogs bed! Luckily I got her upstairs before we had kittens! Do you have any idea even roughly when she mated? Can you see kittens moving and if so how long for? If you look in the articles section of this site there is a really good article about signs of cats going into Labour. Good luck :)

Welcome to TCS!

Has she lost her mucus plug yet?  You should also see her waters break or leak.  She will also 'drop'.  the kittens move into the birth canal and she looks slimmer.  I'd guess you have a few days to go at least.  When the mom's get really close they stop the Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde routine.  She may also lose her appetite and have loose stools.

Welcome to TCS!

Most immediate - do you have a nest set up for her (or a few so she has options)  She will want to be in a dim/dark quiet place for the first few weeks.  Like a closet or spare room.  Use a box w/o holes (or block them securely).  You can cut down one side - leave a 3 - 4 inch tall piece.  If it's a plastic container or you don't want to cut a box, place it on it's side.   Use an old blanket, t-shirts or fleece for bedding.  You will need to have mom's litter, food and water nearby - she will not want to leave her newborn kittens for long.

here is are a few articles that may come in handy.

I'm not sure I got her from my neighbor and she was already showing. I would say she is close tho since I've had her for 3 weeks and have been able to see movement every since I got her She has been showing pre labor signs like she has stopped eating and her temperature dropped

My cat ate before, during and after Labour! She'd have a kitten then stop for some food, i think like humans cats are all different and there is definitley not one set rule they all follow, she will soon let you know when she is ready [emoji]9786[/emoji]
