i AM FOSTERING 4 FERAL KITTENS AND THEIR MOM. THEIR CAT BOXES SMELL TERRIBLE!  THEY HAVE NORMAL CONSISTENCY IN THEIR STOOLS THOUGH. I WAS VERY SURPRISED THEY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COCCIDIA ESP SINCE THEY DON'T HAVE THE RUNS. I WANTED TO INTEGRATE THEM INTO MY HOUSEHOLD, BUT I'M WORRIED THEY WILL GET MY CATS SICK. THEY WERE IN THE SUN ROOM WITH THEIR MOM WHO IS CRAY CRAY FERAL AND i WANTED TO SOCIALIZE THEM. THEY ARE AROUND 12 WEEKS OLD MAYBE A LITTLE OLDER. THEY ARE IN MY SON'S BEDROOM NOW.  IS IT SAFE TO TO BRING THEM AROUND MY CATS AFTER THEIR NEXT DOSE OF PONAZURIL? THEY HAD A DOSE ON FRIDAY AND WILL GET ANOTHER DOSE ON NEXT FRIDAY. i'M TRYING TO MIX MOM CATS WITH HER FOOD. SHE WON'T LET ME TOUCH HER, BUT THE KITTENS WILL EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T LIKE TO BE TOUCHED YET. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I would wait until you take in another stool sample to be sure.  You don't want your resident cats to be infected.  Once you get the all clear from the stool sample, integration would be a great idea.

I agree 100% with @ShadowsRescue!  You want to be certain that the kittens aren't shedding this before integrating with your cats.  I am aware of a pretty bad strain of coccidia in your area that is presenting WITHOUT diarrhea.  You don't want a house full of animals with this.

Thanks so much. I hope ,my liaison will let them be retested. I will gladly pay for the vet visit esp if it means keeping my cats safe! We have been vacuuming the area around the liter pans. Do you think my vacuum cleaner is  safe to use in the rest of the house,  The kittens are in my son's room. We dump out the liter twice a day and wash it out with first water then lysol wipe it out. let it sit, then rinse again and dry. Is that good enough, or do i need to do something more?

Best to bleach litter boxes. We just dilute *regular* bleach...not the scented or splashiest ones. All bedding, washable surfaces need to be washed in HOT water. Ammonia can kill the coccidia oocysts/eggs on hard surfaces. The oocysts can remain in the environment for several months.

Just an FYI, people (and dogs) can be infected by the same coccidia the cats have. So, make sure you, your son and any other family members use proper hygiene after handling the kittens. (A good hand washing).

Ok so its just hard surfaces that ammonia works on, I've been alternating hospital grade dispatch wipes and lysol, so I should probably just use the dispatch on the liter pans, Dispatch kills everything from distemper to  c diff. It has a bleach base with 5 minute contact time with c diff and a 1 to 2 minute contact time with other strains, Thanks so much,  I'm going to steam clean everything tomorrow, bathe the kittens, and give them their last dose of medicine. Thanks again for all the advice!
