For the past year or so my cat, Willow, has been getting sick every once in awhile (there doesn't seem to be a pattern). She has the same recurring symptoms of throwing up yellow bile, not eating, and not drinking. Multiple expensive tests at the vet, and we still have no answers as to what could be causing this. They usually hydrate her and give us some appetite stimulants, which pushes away the problem for a bit, but it always comes back.

In the last month or so Willow has been getting sick nearly every week. She won't eat or drink, she throws up, and she barely moves. We do our best to get her to eat and drink, but it's not enough. We just don't have another $400+ to spend at a vet, where we likely won't get an answer. No free clinics will take her, either. I don't know what to do anymore, and in her state she won't last long. I've searched everywhere for advice and answers, but nobody seems to have a cat with this problem that recurs so often. I've joined this forum just to get advice, so I'd really appreciate anybody offering up suggestions of what to do to help her.

Medically, Im stuck.   Otherwise, outside the obvious advice to try and find another vet, is you try and find a vet whom is specialized on cats, whom is really good.

As the tests didnt showed something, there are really no need for new tests.  No answer is also an answer.  I mean, a knowleable vet but whom dont have access to advanced tests, may perhaps help you anyways.

Some veterinarian schools have free of charge possiblility to ask their professors via mail. Perhaps such?

The everyday advices, which perhaps may help.

Goats milk is always OK.  If you can get raw goats milk (frozen or fresh) is even better.

If you can get goats milk, try with some good kitten mothermilk replacement...    They are easy to digest, if nothing else.

When he is in crisis, give him pedialyte. Bought flavorless pedialyte for babies is probably best, but you can also make useful pedilyte at home, based on glucose sugar source and minerale salts....

Be ready to forcefeed with a needleless syringe, in the corner of the mouth...

Im so sorry for your situation.

Thank you for your concern and your advice! I don't know if she'll recover from this ever, but your suggestions do give us a few things to try instead of feeling hopeless.

A pharmacist I just talked to (sort of a new age type one) said white rice is good for upset stomach, and said not to feed vegetables since their intestines aren't built for it.

I feed my cat other snacks not sure if it's ok. She loves squash.

I was feeding my cat eggs, cooked of course not raw, and she was throwing up, all over all my sheets and all favorite winter blankets!!!
Stopped the eggs and all is fine.

Good luck can a holistic vet help or vet?

Eggs are hard on the gallbladder. Did they test her bile to see if there was blood in it?
