Kitty Visitations

So my cat and I are currently living with my parents. Im moving out in about a year and my parents are already thinking about getting another kitten when I move out. My parents want me to come visit every month once I move out, and bring my cat. But I'm just worried about how my kitty will respond to coming back and there is another kitty, will he remember the kitty from month to month when I visit, is this a disaster waiting to happen, what should I do?

Most cats don't do well with change, travel, or sharing territories. I think all cats involved will be happier staying in their own homes.
