Daily Thread for Wednesday :)

Welll, I am here tonight, not because my computer is OK, since unfortunately it´s more dead than we thought

Either the hard disk or the or the motherboard is ruined, so I guess that´s gonna cost a lot of money

But tonight I could borrow my sister´s laptop, since she has a desktop as well, and felt bad for me not beeing able to get online

Hopefully I´ll have it tomorrow as well, since I dont know for how long I´m gonna be out of computer.
This seems to be my story these days.....the computer, my mobile died, my fairly new fridge isn´t working right, I bought a new clothing iron before Christmas, and it didnt work the way it should, so I got a new one - that also doesnt work the way it should

Well, those things are unimportant in life, arent they

My poor baby, Pollýanna that is, is back with a plastic head thing (what do you call those in English, the ones to prevent them from biting their stitches?) I thought yesterdays thing was just gonna be a tiny op, but it turned out to be a bit bigger, no major thing thought. But they cut her cysts in three places, so there are stitches. This is getting so terrible, the biggest one now is the size of a small to midium apple! They thought they could take some fluids from the cysts, but found out there isn´t any fluid there. This seem to be an overgrowth of tissue, and they are clueless why this is growing so out of proportion. Hmmmm....this is getting a bit medical, I guess I better write the details in Health and nutritions

.....anyway, this could be just the beginning of many more ops.... My poor baby, I feel so for her, always having to be at the vet and having this thing on her head.

I got a student for German tudorin today. I haven´t given any German lesson this schoolyear, so I was a bit rusty, but I guess it went well, since the girl asked my if she could give my number to people she knew that needed German tudoring, and I really need the money.

Almost the end of the day, and I'm happy to see it end! I don't know why, but the heating system seems to be on the fritz this afternoon at the office. I work with mechanical engineers, who design HVAC systems! That's the ironic part. Anyway, it's at least 85 degrees up by my desk, a little cooler in the back with the guys. :sweating: It was unseasonably warm outside today, pushing 70, but still. Funny thing is, we are supposed to get snow tomorrow. Crazy weather.

Sesselja, I think you mean an E-Collar (short for Elizabethan Collar). Or Lamp Shade works too. (DON'T tell Pollyanna I said that!!) I do hope they figure out what's going on with her! Continuing to send good and healthy vibes to your baby girl!!

Yebb, that´s what I mean!

We also sometimes call it lamp shades (or jsut shade) or even another thing I also have no word for in English at the moment, it´s the thing you use when pouring liquid into small containers, so you wont spill!

Hey, I need a new lamp shade! When Polyanna is done with it do you think she'll give it to me?

My friend's 3 year old totally destroyed my lamp shade one day when his mother and I were painting. Grrrrrrrrrr

Oh well. He's such a cutie I couldn't bare to say anything.

I've been very tired today. I know why and it's my own fault. I fell asleep with the TV on last night. I usually set the alarm so it turns off in 60 minutes but I didn't last night. When I do that I don't sleep well and end up feeling like crap the next day. YOu'd think I'd learn, right? WRONG!!!

It was 53 degrees here today and a lot of snow melted. Heard about a few roofs and buildings that colapsed from melting snow. We sure had a lot of it this year!

I have to find a way to earn some extra money but I don't want to necessarily get a traditional (second) job. It would be kind of hard since I work 10-11 hours a day 7 days in a row. I'd only be able to work a day or two every other week for someone else. If only money really did grow on trees!

I know that Pollýanna would be more than happy to give you both her lamp shades righ now!

(I couldnt find her shade once, and bought another one, and the first one was the first one I saw when I got home

) I'm sure she is sich of wearing this thing, it seems she hass to wear it half the time. ...But with it she DOES walk like a supermodel

The only thing missing is a jacked held over her shoulder

Work went fine but, getting home was tiring. The traffic was bad (as usual) but, the grocery store was WORSE! I stopped to buy a birthday cake for Bill. They had some nice German chocolate ones, which he loves. Unfortunately, the store was jammed. I use the self checkout but there were people ahead of me, with more than the allowed 18 items plus people who had no clue as to how to use the thing.

Finally, out of the store and over to the smoke shop. Their delivery was screwed up and they only got 19 cartons of Marlboro, this week. Naturally, they got none of my menthol lights. A carton of off-brand will keep me from killing anyone, this week.

The only sane place was the library. I was in and out of there, in 10 minutes.

On his own initiative, Bill cooked dinner. I told him that he shouldn't have to cook on his birthday but, he did it anyway. He got a kick out of the card and he likes the new shirt. His sisters are coming on Saturday and want to go out to lunch. There goes our refrigerator-buying trip.

Thank goodness, this week is half over and its a payday week.

I went back to work today and of course I got another coldsore.
What the heck? I started my vacation with one and got rid of it on the 7th now another one on the day I go back? Does this mean I'm allergic to work??
Hmmmmm..... I'll have to check it out.
Anyone know a good way to get rid of them? I have Abreva and that works ok but if anyone knows a way to get rid of them faster, please tell me! I'm sick of 'em!

Valtrex works for cold sores as well as genital herpes. Ask your doctor. I believe you just need one a day for 3 days and it works fast, even if you don't start taking it within 12 hours of the outbreak as they suggest. My sister uses it when she has cold sore break outs.
