I've been feeding Begley Natures Variety Instict kibble for 2 months now. The battle to get him to eat wet food is on going...haha!

Anyway, ever since feeding him Natures Variety instinct. His stools have been a tan-ish color. Not like a deep brown. He seemed to be doing good on Wellness core but ever since reading about many cats having crystals. I decided to switch over to NV.

I'm wondering if it's something I need to worry about or not? I feel awkward saying this but they are of good form. Not runny or too hard.

Stools normally reflects the kind of food your cat is eating. Don't get to worried about that.
Only start to worry if the stool is tarred color or real black/dark, this could be sign of bleeding and if it's watery or runny or constipated, all these needs the attention of the vet.

Thank you. So would the food also have something to do with his stool size? It doesn't appear as if he's straining or having trouble. But I noticed that once we switched from Wellness Core to NV, his stools became a but smaller in size. The Wellness Core stools looked like lincoln logs. Haha!

Not too sure about food resulting in stool size. But maybe it does. Also I think the amount eaten throughout the day might result in stool sizes.
Maybe the more experience poo inspectors can shed more 'light' on this.

Yes, food with less filler and byproduct will produce smaller, less stinky stool.

Thank you talkingpeanut for your reply. I had tried to search prior to posting but the only info I could find is what TabbyTom posted early...but nothing about color besides the typical brown.

Thank you both again for your replies. Much appreciated.
