I've had Skippy for four or five months now and I can not sleep. If he's in the bedroom with me and I'm not paying attention to him, he jumps up on furniture and knocks stuff over. If I'm asleep, he wants to be right in my face or wakes me up to pet him. If I put him in the bathroom, he whines and not a loud whine to the point you HAVE to go get him but a low soft whine that is constant. And by constant I mean all night he mews with no breaks. It's all night. He's fine during the day. I let him cuddle, he's good, he doesn't get in my way when I'm not paying attention to him. Just at night he turn into an attention seeker. He's two and declawed(not my choice) and he's also fixed. I can't give him up because I'm too attached and who wants to deal with a cat that has attention issues? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Does he have plenty of toys? Does he have the run of the place if you shut him out of the bedroom?

Is getting another cat an option? Two cats will keep each other company and there will be less clinginess. My Aby was super clingy and attention demanding as a kitten until I got another cat. He was much happier with a friend to play with.

He has two others, another 2 year old male and a 11 month old male. They have toys all over the place and especially loves his little stuffed dog a friend gave him. He takes it everywhere and plays with it non stop. The only time he doesn't have run of the place is at bedtime the last few weeks. But even before, he would just whine if I or my roommate left the room for any amount of time. We would let him have the place to himself at night, but we don't trust him. He gets into the trash, up on the TV, the fish tank, into the cabinets- we can't let him out by himself because he breaks everything. I have him and the two year old that usually sleep with me and the first month I had him, he was fine. He didn't cuddle as much, didn't have to be near my face or wake me up. I've read online that when they wake you not to pay any attention or put them in the bathroom and if they make noise just ignore it. That's really hard to do.
