HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!

Here's something I've pondered quite often...

All things being even, living in the town/area of your choice, AND living in a home you really adore,  would you prefer to move two blocks down the street, or across the country?

I moved 25 times during 26 years of marriage, and once after that, in 2007.  I've moved just blocks (sometimes just yards), and I've moved across state lines.  I've come to the conclusion that it really is simpler to move across the country, just because you set your mind to it, pack it all up, load it, make the drive, unload, and settle in.  Invariablt, when moving just a short distance, you end up making a 1003 trips with just the back seat of your car loaded with "a few little things,"

Better to get it over with and done in one fell swoop, to me.

I would love to move to another part of the country if I had to move.  I have lived in the same area for over 50 years and it would be my dream to start over, somewhere new, especially if it was warm year-round.  If I moved far away, I would still want to be able to get to the ocean in an hour or so, just like here.  The idea is exciting, but because of finances, I fear this dream will never materialize.   But it would definitely be far away, somewhere totally new.

I would love to move to California and get the heck out of Maryland. Crime is so bad here and their are so many rude people.

We've moved across the Atlantic twice and two blocks away once. We're actually thinking of moving across Germany within 3 - 5 years. My dream would be to move to Scotland, but that won't be possible thanks to Brexit.

At this point? I think I'd like to move out of the country. If Canada was warmer, we'd seriously consider moving there.

At this point of my life, all things considered, I'd just move close by to an easier to take care of house. Maybe a town over or two to make my commute shorter.

Catch me in 10 years when I'm ready to retire. My answer will be entirely different

Me too. There's always the Bahamas which is close enough yet far enough at the same time.
Bermuda baby.  My favorite island out of all I've been to.

Unfortunately, it's uber expensive plus, they don't allow American citizens to purchase there.

Well, I didn't mention WHERE I would like to move, only that I thought across country would be simpler, logistically, but if I had my druthers, I'd move to Colorado or Scotland.  For much the same reasons.  Colorado is actually possible.  I'd have to win a lottery to get to Scotland.

Moving to Scotland would be the simplest of all...I'd take one bag of clothes, and Her Nibs.  Remember...I'd have won that lottery, and could replace everything once there!
