Ok so it's a known fact I'm a crazy cat lady. I have three cats I adore and talk about all the time. My question is when does it become "too much" ?
For example my boyfriend lives with me and he likes my kitties but he says I'm insanely obsessive about them and sometimes gets upset because I pay too Much attention to them and not him,And that I talk about them more then he wants to hear about. But I kind of can't help it I love them so much I guess I am a bit obsessed but I' call it love.
And another thing is that I've always considered a career with helping animals but don't think I could go through with it because I would be a complete disaster every time something went wrong with a kitty. I mean I get tearful even from reading some of the sad stories on here.
Do I need help ? Am I as bad as he says or ??
I'm kind of embarrassed at this point... [emoji]128533[/emoji]

I don't think you are insanely obsessive but then again, I'm just like you so perhaps I'm not one to judge?? Seriously, I don't think that loving someone or something deeply is obsessive. I think that some people just feel things on a deeper level than others but that does not make them obsessed. I too often cry at the sadder stories on the forum because I feel so much for the person as I know how I would feel if I were writing that about my cat. Personally, I think that anyone who can love an animal so much they put that animal before themselves is an amazing soul. It a gift and a special gift at that.

Don't be embarrassed.  You'll find that most of the people on this board are like you!

I've thought the same thing about volunteering in a shelter.  I don't think I could do it, I'd want to bring every single cat home with me.

Well, DH and I talk about our cats all the time, sometimes he'll call me at work to tell me what they are doing. I guess it helps that he is a crazy cat dude
Plus I come home from my volunteer shift at the rescue and yak up a storm about the kitties there - some of whom he has met and some he hasn't.
