This is our new kitty. She has the very typical tabby M shape on her forehead, but doesn't have the target pattern on her side that I'm used to with my orange tabby, Carrot. What does this make her? Still a tabby or is she more likely to be a tabby and something else mixed together. Obviously she's a domestic shorthair- but what do I call her beyond that?

She is a tabby... I think she looks like a ticked tabby. :)

Found this image, what do you think?

Btw, congratulations on your beautiful new family member, she looks so sweet [emoji]128525[/emoji]

Ticked tabby then. It definitely looks like her in that chart. I don't think I ever realized how many different tabby patterns there could be!

I didn't either until I joined TCS :D I've always found it hard to describe the fur color such as yours has. I don't think brown accurately describes the color but that's what I call mine :/

No kidding. The shelter was doing a red, white, and blue deal at the shelter (50% off cats that were orange, any variation or white, or gray). They counted her as gray- though the shelter card says she is a brown tabby.
