Is the pricing for cat foods on Chewy fairly consistent? Looking into the Acana brand of food and usually buy cat food from amazon but noticed the Acana is priced fairly low on Chewy (45 dollars) and on amazon it appears to be anywhere from 60-75 dollars. Does 45 dollars sound right? It doesnt specify that its on sale and I would like to switch to this brand for the bit of dry food they do get but don't really want to if the price is likely to jump from 45 to 70 dollars. Thanks for any answers. :)

The brands I buy from chewy go up and down by a few dollars frequently. But I've never seen a huge price jump. I haven't found good prices for pet food on Amazon for some reason.

i think chewy dot com's prices are fairly consistent. they generally have the best prices around that i've seen. of course, price increases do happen but that would effect the prices at basically all websites.

if the acana was on sale at chewy, they'd have that on the product page.

also, if you live in a state where chewy does not have a physical presence (like a warehouse, etc), then you won't be paying any tax on your purchase(s).

and, chewy's customer service is absolutely the best.

For the MOST part I've noticed amazon and chewy are priced similarly, sometimes down to the cent, and usually will choose amazon due to free shipping, but for that specific food the price differences are crazy lol.

Well thats good to know, in case i ever need to return something for whatever reason. :) Maybe i can find something thats around 5 dollars to add to the purchase so I'll get something instead of just paying 5 for shipping.

I agree that Chewy almost always has the best prices for the foods I buy. Yes, they do sometimes go up or down (I try to stock up when they go down!)

Also, their customer service is excellent. Nine times out of 10, if you get a good and your cats don't like it, they will give a full refund and tell you to donate any unused portion.

Chewy does usually have the best prices for anything you might want to buy, whether it's on sale or not.  Their shipping is very low also, and their customer service is great.  Once when they were not going to have the food I had on automatic monthly shipment because the company was not shipping any for awhile (you couldnt find it anywhere!), they actually called me to let me know in plenty of time for me to find it elsewhere.  But it turned out that nobody anywhere had it.  How many companies would personally telephone you in advance about a normally available product that was not going to arrive?

Another thing I like about their site is that no matter what food you look at, if you scroll down a little ways below the intro, they ALWAYS have a list of the full ingredients, making it very easy to compare foods without having to go from web site to web site to find ingredients of foods by different manufacturers.

I agree 100% with red top rescue red top rescue regarding Chewy's consistently low prices and stellar customer service. They have on more than one occasion gone over and above my expectations. One time, I was trying to place an order via their website and something was going on with their site and it would not process my order. So, I called to place my order. Well, not only were they able to link my order by my telephone number so I didn't have to try to locate everything I wanted to order but they gave me 30% off my entire order for the inconvenience of the glitch in the website. Now, I did not even view having to place the order over the phone an "inconvenience" at all but it was an amazing gesture and is a great example of how Chewy treats its customers!

I really like buying food at Chewy.

I purchase 3 or 4 cases at a time. One time I received a kitten Fancy Feast instead of a Pride Rabbit. I called them immediately. They were great!!!

They apologized profusely, got the replacement within a few days. They also told me to donate the wrong case of food to my local shelter...no questions asked...

That is really great customer service!!

have you received your first order from chewy yet? they're pretty darn fast with shipping. for me, most times my order has been delivered before the tracking catches up to it!

I do like Chewy also but usually go with Amazon because of the subscribe and save. I order the big dog sized bag of Pure Bites chicken treats and have gotten them as low as $16 and change with my 15% discount. Chewy can't touch that. I also get canned foods at a good price with my discount and shipping on S&S orders is always free. I think that they watch each other's pricing as they are often the same to the penny. I don't need to have a minimum order with Amazon as long as the item is Prime eligible.

I probably will mostly use amazon due to being able to use my sisters free shipping since she is nice and shares an account with me, but the one thing I'll have to buy on chewy is the Acana, since they have it for 45 dollars and amazon has it for 65-75. (If they fix the pricing I may buy it from there, though) I just added some cat fountain filters onto my order and got the free shipping so it works out. :)
