I would like to find out why my MowMow likes to sit on paper, bag, or clothe that she can find on the floor, chair or bed.........
Thanks! Jean

Who can really understand the ways of the cat. Many of us try though. She probably just likes how it feels on her skin- or the noise it makes when she lays down on it.

Pretty cat!

Oh yeah, all of my cats do that, anything on the floor or on the newspaper or store ad if I'm trying to read them!!!

I have no idea why they do it, but my two do that also. I do proofreading for a publishing company and the cats are forever trying to "help" me by laying all over what I'm supposed to be reading!

Mine do that as well, but they also like to walk on my laptop and write to my mom through aol instant messanger. Also if we are trying to put something together they sleep on the instructions!

Mine really like to sit on bags too. They've even gotten inside bags before. It's so cute but I worry a bit when they do it. I have a few pictures of Sparta inside Ikea bags... so cute!

My theory, it looks different, ergo they try and claim it as theirs.

yeah both of my cats do this, and reading the itme in question only increases the liklyhood thatone of them will sit on it.

Newspapers and carrier bags (only under supervision) are Jeepers favourite things. Funnily enough though she only wants newspapers when we're reading them

My cats sit in boxes, on top of boxes, in paper bags, on top of paper bags, newspapers...the list goes on...

I've seen some kitty beds with newspaper inside it. I think cats like the crinkling noise.

Sounds like a pretty normal cat to me. I've never had a cat who didn't go for those things -- some more than others, but such things are definitely to be investigated, and usually claimed. Who can say what the attraction is!

Pretty Kitty!!

Mia does this too. there can be an entire room full of comfy chairs, beds, she has the choice of my lap and my fiance's but still manages to prefer the tiny piece of paper, card or random magazien lying around.!
hmm comfy!

She also has a habbit of raiding my hand bag with her paws and stealing my make up brushes and pens!
Nutty animals indeed!

My Dori does the same thing also. I go to school at night and anytime I am trying to work on homework she will either jump right up and sit on the laptop keyboard or she will lay right on top of my book. Sometimes I think she is trying to tell me she would rather me pay attention to her than the work I am trying to get done! Also, she too likes to lay on plastic bags, magazines, or newspaper whatever is there.

Well, ya know, humans are moderately educable, but we have to be reminded constantly of priorities. This is the cat's task. It's tough, but somebody has to do it.
