Hey everyone. This is Jasper. He came home from the vet a week ago today, after bring in for 5 days with a urinary blockage. We have been back and forth to the er with a few iffy moments, but it's been ruled that Jasper just likes to keep me on my toes. Anyways, he has been eating a decent amount through his recovery (roughly a can of food a day, mixed with water), but he hasn't been pooping every day. He went from Monday to Friday without pooping, but I assumed it was because he didn't eat during his extended vet visit. Now, it's been Since Friday night. His poop was very dry, and I have found little remnants around the house (very small amounts).
I didn't know if anyone has any experience with this?

Hello, and welcome to the site. Poor Jasper! He's certainly been having a rough time of it lately. He looks like a sweetheart too.

I know that blockages are quite common these days, and we've got quite a few members who've dealt with this. Hopefully someone with direct experience will chime in.

To me, going that long without a proper poop is concerning. I would be looking into giving him some kind of constipation relief like canned pumpkin or pysllium in his wet food. Is he eating normally now?

Thank you! Yes he has had a rough week!Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't been diagnosed with some stress induced disease as well [emoji]128521[/emoji]. He is eating smaller meals throughout the day, strictly watered down wet. I noticed he was holding his urine for a long period of time before going so I switched his litter and that has appeared to make him want to go more often. I am hoping it will entice him to poop soon. I was using a more expensive, organic litter but apparently he would rather the cheap stuff!
