Hello, my first post :-) I just had a question or two haha
My girl unfortunately is having her second litter. Please Don't Judge! Very long story and not intentional! I believe all pets should be spayed and neutered like Bob Barker says :-) but sometimes things happen! Not happy about this either. I wasn't the first time and I'm not now. But again a long story so please no negative responses. I feel the way you do I can assure you!

Anyway our girl Beba's first letter last year round pretty smoothly. I noticed she was licking her privates a lot and felt her and she was wet so because she hadn't nested for whatever reason I put it down a laundry basket with towels and she immediately jumped in and shortly after give birth and within a couple hours she had 4 adorable kittens!! I believe she is due any day now and she has been overly affectionate for the past few days and all evening she has been really restless and licking herself but not on her privates. It's still dry there although I have felt there a few times over the past few days only because that was my experience before and of course I don't get right in there LOL but she feels like she has dilated. Or am I going crazy? LOL Anyway blah blah so I guess now last night ( it is almost 5 a.m. and I haven't slept yet) she's been a little more Restless and she is breathing heavier although not overly heavy but heavier than usual. Her kittens I can feel kick and what not however for the past six or seven hours they have been moving around like crazy. Are these signs of early early labor? I really want to go to bed LOL get some sleep at least! But she doesn't want me to leave her yet she won't lay in bed with me either because it's too hot. And of course I want to be there to help her especially in case of an emergency but also just because she really enjoyed me being there last time. Does this sound like early labor? And then my other question is, she had 4 babies the first time. What are the chances she will have the same amount or more? I know she could have less but I don't know the exact percentage and I know they usually have more the second time however she did have quite a few the first time. And my last question is I would love for my daughters to watch her give birth, they really want to and I'm okay with it however I'm so worried about a stillborn or a kitten dying right after birth and then witnessing it. I know it's life but I would do anything to not have their heartbroken. What percentage of kittens are born stillborn? Or shortly after die? Sorry for the novel! LOL I will keep you all posted! Thank you so much for your help :-)

I hope you got some sleep. I think the best thing to do in these situations is to sleep in the same room as the cat. They will usually let you know if they need you.

There is no way to know how many times she mated or how many kittens she may have, unless you get an x-ray or ultrasound.

There is no way to predict whether there will be a stillborn either. Most litters are all born healthy. If a kitten passes and your daughters are watching, you'll need to explain that some kittens do not make it due to many reasons. If you feel this would upset them, it may be best they not watch yet. I do not know their ages.

What did you do with her kittens from the last litter?

If you tell us your city and state I can locate a low-cost spay clinic for you for your mom cat after this litter.

I'm in the same boat as you are. My Luna is on her first litter and its making me anxious. I try not to show it around her of course. But she hasnt had her kittens yet and its really starting to worry me. But when those events happened in Luna, i went to sleep. She knows to come get me from my bed of she needs me. Her nest is in my closet after all! Lol. But try to get some rest. If your kitty needs you, she'll get you no doubt. :)
