So I have a very pregnant mama on my hands and before I get yelled at for not getting her fixed she got out before I could get her to the vet, but I am planning on getting spayed after the kittens have weened.

My question is 48 hours ago we think she lost her mucus plug but hasn't shown anyother signs of labor yet. Is it possible that not all of the plug came out? Should I take her to the vet? Will hearing a kittens meow trigger labor or just stress her out?

Welcome to TCS!

Take a deep breath and relax.   Your cat will sense your stress and it will stress her.  There is no need for a vet unless your cat is in distress.

Yes it's possible she only lost part of her mucus plug.  It can come out a week before she goes into labor.   This article will tell you what signs to look for.  It does mention taking the cats temperature - this is not a reliable indicator so ignore this one.
