Started feeding 3 stray cats and they told all of their buddies and so now feed about 12 each day and getting too expensive. Not sure how to end it but that is another topic.Having them all fixed is the answer but they are not my cats.

About 7AM this morning put out food for them, went out 3 hours later and found one of the strays that is about 6 weeks old hanging buy his neck from a small tree.
The branches are about 1.5" in diameter and he apparently was climbing up the tree and slipped. He was in the "V" part between two branches of the tree and just dangling there.

When I got him unstuck he was not able to walk right, he would walk and fall over. Not a pretty site to see. He was wedged between the branches for upwards to 3 hours perhaps.

Took him to the vet and he said his body temp way low and he was dehydrated. He gave him antibiotics, a drip and keeping him over the weekend. I hope the little fellow makes it as he is one of my favorites.

A few weeks ago he was in the motor when I started it and hurt his hip real bad and limped for weeks.

If he does make it he will only have 7 lives left as he has used up 2 of them.

Thank you for rescuing this little one.  He certainly would not have survived without your help and care.

As for you saying the cats you feed are not your cats.  I am a bit confused by this.  Are you the primary person feeding them?  I assume they are not owned by anyone else or they wouldn't need your food.  Once you start feeding/caring for stray/feral cats you assume an ownership of the cats.  The most responsible thing to do is to have them all spayed/neutered.  If not the population is going to quickly multiply before your very eyes.  You will go from 12 to 50.  You might see if there is a local rescue group in your area that can assist you.  Or you might call the local Humane Society or ASPCA.  Getting them all spayed/neutered is the kindest thing you can do for them.  It will stop some of the fighting between the males and stop the poor females from having litter after litter.

It is a wonderful thing to help out strays/ferals.  The love one feels for them runs deep.

Why are you confused by me saying they are not my cats? I do not own these cats thus the name Feral Cats. There is no rescue group in my city if so I would have called them along time ago.

I cannot afford to pay to have them all spayed/neutered and I have checked on that to see if locally it could be done for free and it cannot.

I did not come on here to be preached to about the thing to do.

@ShadowsRescue  is right that you have taken on some responsibility for these cats, which is a wonderful thing to do.  Where are you located near?  We can help you to find low-cost or free spaying and neutering.  Whatever it costs will be more affordable than feeding an ever-growing group!

I think just about all of us have been or are in the same situation as you, @jkbr9800.  It's a very kind and caring thing you are doing feeding these kitties and taking care of the one who was sick.  Poor baby!  I can only imagine how you felt when you saw the one baby hanging from the tree limbs.

In my neighborhood there were 3 ladies who started feeding a mama kitty and her babies.  They would set one bowl of food out on their porches for all of them.  When they saw I began feeding them too, they stopped.  It became my responsibility then.  And I assumed it, too.  I knew what I was getting into by starting feeding them.  I knew that meant I would have to keep feeding them, so I looked for bargains - larger cans for a lower price.  Then I started trapping them.  It took quite a bit of time, but it was well worth it.

So please keep up the good work you are doing for these kitties!  I hope the little one gets better.  Keep us updated please.  This site is a valuable resource to help you take good care of these kitties as affordably as possible.
