My one cat weirdly poops in his litter box and then scratches the ceiling the the box. Yep, he lifts is paw straight up in the air and scratches at the ceiling of the hood..and it takes him foever since it never gets covered up! Ha!

mine do the same thing (scratching the top of the lid). i think the funniest thing is when they race to get to the litter boxes as soon as they've been cleaned, they wait IN LINE to use the boxes

OMG, mine do the same thing. You try to do such a good job and clean the box, but as soon as I walk away, one of them is in it. Amber, the brat she is, loves to get in the box while you are scooping. If you try to scoop her business out while she is in there, she will hit the scooper to knock it back in the box as if to say "hey, that is mine, leave it alone".

Bubba is the shelter cat. Owner released by a terminal cancer patient who told us Bubba didn't have long to live, he has survived almost six years at the animal shelter. This cat doesn't meow, he makes the acck phht noise most often attributed to "Bill the Cat" of Bloom County fame. His major issue is his litter box. He scratches the tile floor next the box. Stands in it. Turns around several times and then promptly leans his backside over and releases the Bubba Bombs! We tried a covered box, he sticks his backside out of the opening. Litter is for standing in. The floor is for pooping on.

Upset the cat and he will leave surprises on your briefcase, your coat, or your chair. He spends most of his time in the office manager's office next to the forced air heater she has going 365 days a year to keep the cat properly warmed.

The cat is not right. He ignores us like we don't exist unless it is 8:00am and time for breakfast. However, have KFC for lunch and he will hit your leg with his paw until he gets his share.

We are considering him for employee of the month but he will have to work on his hygiene before I will approve it.

You are not alone.....The Sammycat does this on occassions, however he isn't playing with it he has a medical problem that I have to clean up the "Landmines" he leaves behind. Thankfully he isn't as bad now as when he was a wee baby. The Sammycat would shread my ankles if he knew that I just told on him

What a topic! That's a problem I luckily haven't encountered. However, if JC accidentally steps in a turd and it gets outside the box, he tries to score a "goal" and kick it back into the box (which is covered, making it more difficult). He yowls while doing this, until somebody comes and cleans up the mess and washes his feet (he hates having dirty feet, so we always keep kitty wet wipes on hand). What I really find wonderful about him is that if he has to cough up a hairball, he heads straight for his litter box, and generally does it there. He does have a habit of kicking all the litter out of his box if I'm trying out a new litter not to his liking - a Herculean task, considering that he has a "jumbo" box meant for multiple cats. One time when I tried out the silicate "balls", I got a "heads up" from our neighbor when I got home from work - she said he'd been up to something for over two hours. He not only got almost all the little "balls" out of his box, but had kicked them down the hallway and then rolled them down our spiral staircase. What a mess, but he must have had a lot of fun!
