Stray cat, what is she?

I took this girl in as a stray,but my first thought was that I would have to rehome her...her long fluffy tail just screamed allergic reaction. But, for some strange reason she sheds very little...if at all. My mom has several short haired at and they shed way more than she does...her hair is very fine textured and gradually gets longer from short at her head to long at her tail....whatever she is, I'm loving the no shedding lol. We have named her Athena.

Athena is a pretty name for a pretty kitty [emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128568[/emoji]

She appears to be a domestic medium haired cat. I'm having a hard time determining her coloring/pattern though. She looks the be orange, but I cannot tell if that is the lighting in the picture.

And yes, its true, people who are allergic to cats often have very little problem handling medium or long haired cats. In fact, my mom is allergic to cats, but our 3 cats are medium and long haired cats and they don't bother her at all. But when she goes over to visit her friend who has 3 short haired cats, she gets a bad reaction so her friend keeps the kitties in her air conditioned garage when my mom is over.

Long/medium haired cats actually shed less than short hairs. That's why they have long hair.  The shorter hairs fall out faster.
