I have four 11 day old kittens, all diagnosed with URI and on antibiotics for two days now. But the boy was the most sick at the vet and he seems to be getting worse. He is having trouble breathing, seems very labored. I have been feeding him formula with a syringe ( nose to stuffed to nurse) and steaming him in the bathroom. Is there anything else I can do? I spent all the money I have taking them all in to see the vet this week, and I don't want to lose him. Please any help would be much appreciated.

The steam and syringe feeding are excellent. You can use Little Noses infant saline drops - not spray - to help break up the mucus. Also, mix his formula with clear pedialyte instead of water.

It's hard when they are so tiny. If you can keep him going, he should begin to get better after the fifth dose.

He'll need feeding through the night too. At 11 days old he can't go more than 2-3 hours without food.

Please keep us posted. So glad you got antibiotics for them.

Thank you, I'll give both of those a try. He has all of us so scared right now. He just lays there taking heavy breaths.

That's concerning. That sounds like more than just a URI. How long has he been doing that?

Is there a chance he has inhaled formula into his lungs?

He is doing much better now. He is finally nursing from mommy cat again, and acting like a normal kitten. The formula mixed with pedialyte got him hydrated again and the saline finally loosened up his nose so he could breath easier. He was once the biggest kitten and now is the smallest, but he is alive. I was going to start giving him goats milk mixed with formula a couple times a day to help fatten him back up.
Once again thank you for the help.

I'm glad he survived, and I'm happy to know the saline was helpful also.

I hope he fattens up and grows soon. Keep us posted!
