Get lipstick off cat?

Freya was rubbing her face against mine so I smooched her nose without thinking. I had lipstick on. So now she has a lipstick mark on her nose and I'm not sure how to get it off lol. Any advice? I tried rubbing it with a soapy cloth but it just smudged.

LOL...I have no clue!  Come on,  guys, help this nice lady out!  

I'm afraid I'll just have to let it rub off on its own over time lol. But it was a cheaper brand of lipstick so maybe it won't take too long. [emoji]128514[/emoji]

I was curious since I have never experienced this and did a Google search. The answer I found was blue dawn dish soap the reasoning behind it was because lipstick is oil based.

Hopefully someone here has experienced this and can give you some advice,

How cute! This happened to my mom's dog once, on his neck, she applied vegetable oil to it and a baby wipe and it came off gradually. Vaseline might also work.

I was thinking something oil based as well -- oil to dissolve grease -- but Dawn would probably work better.  But I believe I'd try doing it with a washcloth rather than a bath.

By the way, I've used Dawn to remove grease spatters from a tee shirt and it worked extremely well; even got old ones.  You just have to use it as a pre-treater and let the clothing sit for a while before you actually put it in the laundry.

You can use hypoallergenic eye make-up remover to get it off. One of the cats I rescued had been hiding under a car and had engine oil all over her ears. Cotton wool soaked in gentle eye make-up remover cleaned then up a treat.

What about just coconut oil or lard?

Yes, food grade grease or oil.

"Like dissolves like" is the chemistry rule of thumb.

The residue will also not be nasty when she cleans the site.

That said, our cats get my lipstick on them all the time and it wears off pretty quickly.

Guessing it almost is gone by now. I just put catnip on some carpet and my cat just rolled her face on it until it all rubbed off. 

Hey guys thanks for all the answers. Luckily the lipstick rubbed almost all the way off on its own. She's still a little pink but I expect it will fade away on its own lol.

She's my little pageant queen. She didn't like having a blemish.

This reminded me of the way my sister's bird would have lipstick all over his head, lol.

I think that these would work since you're not using them on a place where they can lick and they are very gentle. They are safe to use on eyes and they do NOT sting.
