Hey i hope this is the right thread, but ive recently gotten a 2 1/2 month old kitten (about five days ago) and i woke up to her puking. When i looked it looked mostly clear, except there was a little bit of white in it. Ive read that it could be a variety of things, and im really just scared. I dont know if my mom will be able to take us to the vet until saturday, which i know isnt long, but she is very small. Is there anything i can do now to keep her okay?
She did eat and drink after this, and shes currently playing

Hi cmru99, what time was her last feed? It could be due to hunger and she is vomiting bile.
How many times a day and how much are you feeding her each time? A 2 1/2 month old kitten eats frequently. Please make sure that she's eating enough as she is in her growing stage.
Continue to monitor her. If she have enough food, she shouldn't be vomiting bile.

Also very important that the little cat is getting water.  Dehydration will take a cat down quickly.

Good advice above.

Also, what are you feeding her?  I don't know where you're located but here in the Northeast of the US it's been exceptionally warm and humid.  I can see how a small cat, with lots of energy to burn, could easily get dehydrated if only eating kibble, and not replenishing lost fluid either in the form of wet cat food, or water.

She free feeds, and i constantly check her water bowl so neither of them are ever empty, and i give her dry food
she eats and drinks pretty well, but if that is the problem, should i switch her to wet food?

She should have access to dry food and 4 or so meals of wet food a day. In general, wet food is a better, more nutritionally dense diet.

If you have time on hand or if there's people home most of the time, go with wet food. Feed her regularly as what talkingpeanut mentioned, at least 4 wet meals a day. This way you don't have to worry if she's drinking enough water but it's good to lay out her water bowls but don't forget to change the water regularly and not leave water for the whole day without changing them.
Feed her wet food as much as she can eat. She's growing.

Reiterating this!

One of ours never drinks water. I swear, in the 3 years we've had her I've seen her do it only a handful of times.  Our other one, drinks a lot!

As long as you're feeding wet food, that will be enough to hydrate her.  I give her 2 cans of wet a day (the 3 ounce, so 6 total) and very little kibble; only as a snack before bed usually.  She's been extremely healthy.

Okay, thank you guys! I do change her water regularly. I'll be getting wet food tonight. Thank you all so much

FYI, if it continues thereafter, I'd suggest bringing her into the vet for a look just in case it's some other problem.

Hi I hope your kitty is feeling better... I had this problem a few years ago with some kittens, turned out to be the stuff I was using around my kitchen. (Dettol.) My cousin had the same thing. She cleaned her cat bed with dettol and poor meg wasn't well for a few weeks... a lot of kitchen sprays and floor cleaners are very bad for our little paw lickers. .. I'm not saying this is 100% what's going on with you, just my experience...
