Hi, I just made this account in order to seek help for my kitten.

We found him about a week ago, crying for help across an intersection. He was happy and rambunctious as a kitten should be.

But recently as of today we've noticed him being less active. All he has done today is sleep and drink and eat a little bit.

We cannot afford to go to the vet, and it would break my heart if we had to give him up, but anything to help this little guy live is worth it.

We do have a few ideas to treat him at home, though. Keeping him cool by rubbing the pads of his feet with alcohol, frozen paper towela to drape over him. Currently he's laying in front of my fan asleep.

We have Collidal Silver, which is our only option for medical treatment. I was wondering what would be the safest way to administer to him, assuming it is safe?

He's at least seven weeks old, a boy. He has a piece of his right ear bitten off, which could be the source of his infection but we're not sure.

Please help!!

Yes, he needs an office visit with a vet. A round of antibiotics may cure him quickly. Please let us know how he is doing tomorrow.

Are you giving him wet food and dry kitten chow?

Thank you for taking this little one in and trying to help him. Colloidal silver is not the answer - studies show it has no proveable effect in cats. He does need antibiotics - you must do all you can to get him to a vet, or if that really proves impossible, then get him to the local shelter or humane society. Sometimes such an organisation will let you keep him but pay for his meds, meanwhile putting him on their adoption list. I hate to say it, but a kitten is always expensive. You need to think very hard as to whether you can afford to keep him. Good luck.

I understand he is running a high fever?  Or it is very hot in your place?   anyway, in both cases, make sure he has plenty of fluids.  Use pedialyte if you cant get food into him.  goats milk is always an alternative, especielly raw goats milk.

these treatments advices wont cure him, but they mayl help to buy you some time.

I dont know much about colloidal silver, but I imagine it may be tried with outside wounds, for example this bitten ear.  But the result on internal problems, alike bacteria infection thorough the blood system (high dangerous yes), is less reliable or even non helping at all.

Advices on how to finance medical help you have already got.   This idea mentioned by JennyR works nicely sometimes: you cooperatate with a suitable shelter, and are their fostering home, while they help among others with medical and vet costs. This works sometimes, as their main problem is usually to have enough with reliable fosterers, while economy may be less difficult.

Otherwise, its not impossible they let someone knowleable in the staff look at your kitten.  Or recommend you a good and cheap vet they do cooperate with...

No quaranties given, but may be worth a try.

Please continue to report.

Tx for trying to help this little guy!

Good luck!  @unoriginai
