That sounds like a good idea. Does she have a nesting box?

She has many. One is in the bathroom. Once they're born and a few days old I'm going to move them into the playpen thing so I can have the side door shut but the top open. That way momma can get in and out but babies can't.

Still playing the waiting game. Late Last night when she pottied there was a large wet spot behind where she pooed. I'm wondering if that was finally her water.
She's been super Clingy today. And I think she looks thinner then she was. She's been meowing like every 30 seconds ish but I don't see of feel any contractions. The other cats have been cuddling with her and licking her all morning which they've never done before. Hope fully today's the day.

It sounds like she may have dropped, and may be in labor as well.

Keep us posted!

I'm came home from work to find babies in my box spring! We opened up and moved them into the playpen. I also weighed them really quick as well. 3 black and 3 gray.

From what I can tell they all seem lively and healthy. She's spotting a bit but otherwise happy with her new family.
She cleaned up everything really well, their cords seem kinda long and there was a tiny bloody fleshy bit she didn't eat but otherwise a good job from this new mama.

The weights were 1) 111g
2) 96g
3)94g
4) 109g
5) 71g
6) 107g

Congratulations!  I think you may need to supplement your runt.  That is a low birth weight.  Do you have a needleless syringe and kmr?

Well, surprise! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

The cords will dry and fall off in a few days. Mom will spot for a few days too.

71 grams is very low. I suggest you begin supplementing this kitten with 1ml each hour that you can until it gets bigger. And keep a close eye on #2 and #3 at 96 and 94 grams too.

Do you have KMR and a tiny syringe? It's tummy down, head up, drop by drop in the side of the mouth.

Mom can drink a dish a day too!

Keep us posted!

I have the kmr because I was letting mom have little dishes before she gave birth. My grandma has kitten bottles and she probably has some small syringes too. I can get them away when I'm up in the morning. She's way asleep already and all the stores near me are closed. Is there anything else I can use to feed the little guy so I can supplement him now?

I wasn't expecting the babies today. I was going to stop by her house tomorrow to get it.

You can tell visually he's smaller too.

He seems to have a harder time finding and latching on to nipples. He's on one right now. So I'm gonna watch him make sure he gets to eat at least a little bit before tomorrow morning.

I'm just really glad she doesn't mind me holding them or handling them at all. She gets antsy when they start mewing but otherwise doesn't mind. Never growls or nips or anything. I'm not sure how she'll be with my boyfriend. She almost always slept with me at night. And now she meows every so often until I pet her. Poor thing lost her voice so she sounds terrible but I love her anyway.

I did manage to get a good few drops into him using a ziploc with a minuscule hole in it. And I watched him nurse for 5 minutes. So he'll hopefully be good in the morning. As soon as I weighed him I knew I need an eye on him.

How much weight should they be gaining each day?

They should gain at least 6-10 grams per day. Make sure formula and baby are warm when you feed them. It's best to warm a bottle in a water bath.

The kitten will probably not take a bottle because he has mom, so you'll need a syringe (needleless).

He'll need supplementing even if he's drinking from mom so he can get bigger quickly.

He needs to gain 10 grams a day. They all do ideally. Or more. 6 grams is the minimum.

Feed mom as much wet food as she wants, and leave kitten chow 24/7 for her.

Keep us posted as to how the runt and others are doing. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I've been supplementing the little guy and the one black one because he didn't really gain yesterday. And I don't know if I weighed wrong or what but they all jumped in weight today and look so much bigger!
I'm writing it in a chart but I'm not sure if it's readable lol.

Mommy and babies are currently napping or feeding.

I have this little scale set up on a wooden board because of my carpet next to her little nest so she's more comfortable when I weigh them. I'm the only person she lets touch the babies and I feel so honored. [emoji]128515[/emoji] :)

The weight gains are very good!

You are doing exactly right to supplement the runt in particular, and any who do not gain enough or at all.

Keep it up! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

all babies and mommy seem to be doing perfectly! Belle does this weird thing when the babies cry she'll meow and if they cry again she leans down and meows right in their face.
Little guy weighs the same as the siblings did on their second day. But he's doing good!

Weights are 1-185 2)156 3)157 4)177 5)129 6)186.
Everyone gaining at least10 grams a day but usually more.
Two of the gray ones look exactly the same and either way they're gaining good weight but how can I easily tell who's who?

Also I think the little black ones are soul mates. They've almost always been the same or within a few grams every time I weigh them.

We have some eyeballs! We got 1.5 on one guy and half each on two others. They'll be a week old tomorrow
