One of our 8 week olds seems to be ill ; our 9 month old just had some illness but symptoms are different we went to vet no conclusive answers but he is fine now. Anyhow Clara is sleepy and her muscles are shuddering on and off .Trembling not seizures.

Sweetie I'm not an expert in kittens, but I posted a link to this thread in another thread with LOTS of readers.  You should hear from someone soon,

I'm sorry your kitten doesn't seem well. I have a few questions.  While I am not an expert with kittens the answers might help others who know a lot mre.

Do Clara's ears and paws feel cool to touch or are they warm, and maybe a bit clamy / sticky?

Is it when she is sleeping the muscles tremmor, or at any time?

Is she playing and awake some of the time or just wanting to sleep all the time?

She had eaten supper wet kitten food , nursed three or four times today. I also added water to her dish with the dreges of cat food to get her to drink more .
I just noticed the tremors this morning it looked at frist like she was scared almost.
She is the calmist of the kittens but there was lack of playing this afternoon but right now she batting at some string but not leeping and careening around like the other four .
Her paws and ears are warm but it is so hard to they seem warmer that the other kits but she was curled up so long.
They were born may 22 I was going to take them in to the vet this week for a check up, with momma cat . Mumma is really thin so I wanted to have her looked at before spaying her two weeks from now. But Rudy the 9 month old was in so It will have to wait unless of course , clara is really ill. She is one of two we are keeping 2 have homes that want them after vacation in august but one is going end of the week because their kids are sad about a family situation.

Ah, 8 weeks is really young to separate the kitten from mom that you plan to let go. I suggest you keep the kitten for 2 more weeks for the good of the kitten.

See how Clara is in the morning. If she's no better or is worse, you may want to get her looked at by the vet right away.

I got that far and had to do kids supper and bed . I have posted a fare amount about my cats but all over the place. The big cats in someone else diet thread. They are 5 and 4 and 18 and 12 to 14 pounds. The mumma cat how should of never had kittens but car repairs and a precocious 6 year old got in the way. And my 18 daughters 9 month old Rudy whose been ill in vomit everywhere!
Yes I am sure she is eating enough but she is one who dosen't seem to eat the dry, she follows her mom downstairs and eats some of her other meals ( mom is having wet 6 times ish and fish or chicken some more)
Babies eat 3 as much as they want plus dry and still nurse.

It is very busy but I try to keep it calm; @sarthur2 could read threw Vomit Everywhere thread I posted in cat health last week; Clara is playful and has had wet food twice today she is not shake/ shivering this morning. Do you know how to tempurture a kit? Or what it should be also I bought strongid T To deworn the kittens and it is the same product wirh different doses than the last time I had ir dispensed from a vet

.1 ml pre pound versus 1 ml per four pounds
The first works out to half the dose???

Also yes I would rather keep the kitten 4more weeks but it is hard to get homes this time of year . The shelter and spca foster system in our and the home this cat is going to are over full. And so I feel I have to be accommodating ,the shelters kit are 8 weeks. They want him because he is black and they are cat people so I am as sure as I can be he will be alright.
I also have had a 7 week 4 week and 8 week kitten in the last 5 years and they have been happy I think.
I feel bad for mom who I swear can count to 5. And we will miss him...

Moms know their kittens, so she will be aware that he is gone. I thought 2 more weeks, not 4, would be beneficial. Can the family not wait 2 more weeks?

The strongid dose of .1 mL per pound for kittens sounds correct. It gets repeated in 2 weeks. The other dosage sounds like too much!

Temperature can be measured by placing the thermometer under a front forearm, then adding 3 degress. Normal kitten temperature is 97 degrees F at birth, increasing to 100 degrees F at 4 weeks. Then, normal cat temp ranges between 100 to 102.5 degrees F.

It sounds as if Clara is doing better this morning. Hopefully, she will eat more than twice today.

I will try to read your other thread sometime today.

Keep us posted!

So Clara's temperature is the Only .1degre C (38.8 C not corrected; realizing I don't have F thermometer )than the other long haired kitten's, so that is good also I have been in and out today but she has not had any tremors that we have seen.
The other kit we called him Bear went.My kids were really sad but he is the one who nursed the least and didn't like wet food much so hopefully he will be okay they have a fountain and she said she'll watch to make sure he is drinking water[emoji]128578[/emoji]. And he will be an inside cat[emoji]128512[/emoji]

So all the kittens developed goopy eye , treated it like I would of a baby's . Wiped with boiled the cooled water and clean cotton pad washed hands in between kits. I read some old threads to see what's normaly said about it. I tried otc drops for conjunctivitis. But they didn't improve in 36 hours and hours are short sun mom because of a holiday here so I took a Saturday appt. Vet did not tell me anything I didn't know about feline herpesvirus but as there was no respiratory distress in any of the kittens he can't be sure that's it either. No fevers either. Interestingly the rehomed kitten is clear eyed( I texted the new owner to give her a heads up) .
Anyhow one of the kittens was having a pale clay grey stools but I didn't have any idea which until today when on of my kids reported it . So it is the on that has been claimed since three weeks and goes in 5 days , he is the one that won't touch kibble and won't leave his mum alone so could it be those things??
Or is it likely more serious?

Did the vet give you terramycin ointment for the kittens' eye infections? That is what is normally used to clear it.

What is the kitten eating who is having the pale, clay-like stools?

They were given the shot of antibiotics conv... Can't spell it that is this vets groups (or oarl) standard practice . I had a kitten with herpesvirus and they bid the same thing.

He has a couple of brands of pate type wet ,fancy feast , iams ,occasionally wellness ,some friskies but I don't think it's good enough, and a store brand here in canada loblaws/ superstore nutrition first kitten which has real meat before by products and brown rice grains in it but is it's only grain. he won't touch the iams kitten dry or the wellness kitten dry . He was still nursing often but Beatrix our mumma cat went in to heat today so she has been less patient with them today.
I'm not sure why I didn't mention it to the vet partly because I wasn't sure who if only one, and also my spouse was giving me ahard time about them having to go in [emoji]128580[/emoji] He loves cats and he is the reason we are keeping three kits instead of two!
He once spent my dishwasher / baby present 800$ on his cats teeth,
But poo is like medium grey clay the rest of kits dark brown I say the both look slightly greenish? They were dewormed once, have second dose in fridge.
Happy playful and shiny except when I have the wipe their eyes.
