I didn't see your thread here but wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you guys, and crying with you right now. I know this isn't of much comfort, but she has been loved so much by you guys, and she has loved you also.

Its all over. Floey is an angel now. She was very ill and it was time. She didn't make it past the first injection. My poor girl was in so much pain and I didn't know. But now she is pain free. :rbheart:

((((((Foxxycat)))))))

I am so sorry it was Floey's time to cross the Rainbow Bridge- you have been in my thoughts, but I am just seeing this now......:-(   ........... there is simply never enough time with our precious furbabies.  Hang onto the very last sentence you typed--it will help to get you through the tough times ahead.  All we can do is the absolute very best we can--your little girl loved you and appreciated everything you did to make her life wonderful.

Fly free sweet Floey and land softly.......and give your mama a sign when you safely reach the Rainbow Bridge- you are so loved!

Ruth, K.C. Buster and the spirit of my beloved angel Tiger

I got the blood results back. Here is the letter from the vet
Tonda I was very sorry to hear about Floey, but it is very understandable.
I would've made the same exact decision and I am so sorry to be the bearer
of such bad news yesterday. I also want to just do a final report with
this lab work that showed major problems on the inside.

A white blood cell count of 13.7 is very high for her age and she was
clearly fighting infection or some form of sepsis in the body (this could
include cancer obviously). The monocytes were very elevated and this is a
form of white blood cells that is present in a chronic long-standing
infection. I think that the reticulocyte count would be related to
bleeding that was going on in the body and we can see from the reduce
protein levels that there was obviously intestinal involvement, as
confirmed in the ultrasound

I was also able to tell that she had liver involvement from the elevation
of the ALP. It was very interesting that the thyroid levels were
elevated/high normal in spite of being very, very sick.
You made the right decision and we will miss Floey. It was very good to
work with somebody of your knowledge, and compassion revolving feline
health issues. We share in your loss.

This makes me see with clarity my girl hid her illness and this was on her terms.

I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you've found some answers.  She had you for such a long time to care for her and that's a blessing to her.  When you're ready, you could post a tribute for her in the Crossing the Bridge forum.

@foxxycat, the team at TCS offer our heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

Out of respect for Floey, we lock these threads, but, as stephanietx said, you may like to create a tribute thread to your lovely girl in our Crossing the Bridge forum.

RIP Beautiful Floey
