Hey,

So I stepped on my cat's chest earlier this morning which caused her to fly around the house sprinting for about 5 minutes. After that she's been acting relatively normally, even nudging me like she usually does and purring when I pet her. She went to the litter box and ate some food so I think she's ok but would a vet visit be good?

Did she let out a loud scream when she was stepped on? But you said she the step on her caused her to sprint around for 5 minutes. If she is in real pain, not sure if she can sprint around for 5 minutes.
Maybe you can try touching her chest area and see he squirms or act in pain.
Or better still, I would bring her in to the vet and tell them what happened to be on the safe side. Better play safe.

It depends.. How hard did you step on her? Like, did you hear a crack sound? Or you felt like you "crashed" her chest or something?

She was sprinting cause she got scared.. But, I'd keep an eye on her.. Look out for any gasp for breath, or anything related to her respiratory system.. I'd call the vet for starters, explain what happened and ask them for advice.. Maybe the vet will tell you a couple things without necessarily going there..

I would at least phone the vet! I never take chances when something unfortunate happens. I would also make preparations for a trip to a vet clinic. If you just lightly stepped on her, I'd monitor her for the next 24 hours to make sure that nothing serious occurred and be prepared at the drop of a hat.

Hope all is well,

Beth
