Does anyone out there have experience one way or another, good or bad, with Arm and Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer?

All the best,

Ann

Movin' on up!
I use inexpensive carpet deodorizer, bought at the 99-cent store. Works fine and its much cheaper.

I have used that arm and hammer and I still do. Major warning though, when I first got it, I used way too much and Spica didnt like it. So to thank me, mainly to get my attention, she peed on my bed. Twice. I got the point. Now before I pour the litter I only add about 3-4 tablespoon fulls of the stuff. It just depends on the size of the box and the amount of litter you use. My box is very large and I use enough litter where she doesnt notice the difference. I also keep the poo scooped and litter stirred. Just start out small and if there is an 'accident' dont blame the kitty, it just means you're using too much. Good luck...oh and I've never had any heath problems me or her from using this if you're wondering that too.

I haven't used that, I use tidy cats deodorizer which is cheaper out here. It works wonderful and I would never change it for the world. It smells awesome and the cats dont mind it what so ever! It is in a yellow cylinder shaped container, I usually buy it from wal-mart.

Thanks, all. I picked up some Glade "Carpet and Room Odor Neutralizer" at the grocery store -- 1/2 the price of the Arm and Hammer per ounce. And the litter box smells great! I do hope Miss Kitty likes it. She adopted Jim and me from the wild and she has happily used her LitterMaid since she was first lured into the house.

Ann, with Jim, Miss Kitty, and, soon, Samwise, on a Texas beach

Considering that stuff is made for carpet and not cats/cat litter....I would recomend seeing what your vet says about using that stuff. It may be safe, since alot of that stuff for carpet is pet safe, but most of it is meant to be vacummed up....

I've used a number of products in the past & have stumbled across an awesome one a few months ago. I picked it up at Petsmart & it's called Natures Miracle litter treatment. It was rather pricey (I believe it was close to $10 for a 32oz/2lb container) but it lasts a very LONG time. It says right on the label "Economical-treats as many as 32 pounds of litter". Honestly, I think it can treat a lot more than that! The directions are to sprinkle 2 tablespoons per pound of litter.

I kid you not...this stuff is the bomb! Before I started using this, I could smell that ammonia stinch the day after I changed the litter & now I can't smell a thing after several days. One time I had completely forgot to scoop & change the litter because I realized that I couldn't smell it anymore!

Another cool thing about it is that you can use it for other animals than just for cats. It claims that cats, small caged animals, snakes, reptiles, Pot belly pigs & rabbit urine trays can use this product. Oh..it's also has a money back guarantee...so if you don't like it, you can always get your money back!
Hope that helps you!

Nature's Miracle is great, they also make a accident clean up formula that works really well. I have had good luck with A&H litter box deodorizer, but ever since I switched to A&H clumping litter, I found I didn't need it.
