I took in this lovely lady yesterday. A neighbour had moved house and left her. She's been heard desperately trying to get into the house and it's not been 2 weeks. So last night I took her in and gave her a flea treatment and food and water. She is super friendly and very sleepy. But she is also very pregnant. I think about 8 weeks?

Welcome! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thank you for taking this pregnant cat in.

I have no such kind words for people who move and leave cats behind to fend for themselves. Heartless and cruel! The poor cat must be so confused!

Now she is safe with you and being fed again. She looks plump, but I cannot guess the gestation from a picture. She is surely within a couple of weeks.

Do you see any dried milk flakes on her nipples?

Have you seen or felt kitten movement in her belly?

Have you made a nest for her in a quiet, private place and shown her?

Again, thank you for rescuing her!

Yes made a nest but she just wants me. Have felt movement and she just had a bloody show.
I've experienced cats giving birth before so I'm fully prepared. Just waiting around for it all to start now x

Ah, you have experience! That helps. Sounds like she may be due very soon with the bloody show.

Do you plan to keep mom?

I already have a cat and a dog so I hope to find her a forever home but she can stay with me until the perfect family for her is found.

What an amazing person you are[emoji]128149[/emoji] do you know what I think ? I think youre find room in your heart and in your home to keep her , that would be so nice but I can understand and see your circumstances with an already full house plus said cat is pregnant so it would be a big burden on you . What a cruel thing for the neighbour to do to leave that poor cat on her own, she (cat) is so lucky that are actually decent and kind people like you out there that do care

I will make sure her and her kittens are found good homes. she has melted my heart such a lovely girl.

She is in her birthing crate now but only because I put it on the sofa next to me.

She looks very sweet.  She must be so relieved to be inside a loving home once again.  Thank you for taking her in.

She seems very relaxed in the crate not really touched any food since this morning. Every now and then her tails is twitching but other than that she is chilled. She gets anxious when I leave the room so I'm hoping it happens tonight before I have work tomorrow.

She may be having contractions. Do you see her sides twitching at all?

Still no kittens from domino this morning. Though I am very tired in work today as I spent the night watching her.

I set her up the the crate before leaving and fingers crossed her legs stay crossed until I get home.

She ate a meal this morning and seems very settled.

My class are taking bets on how and kittens and what they will be.

i forgot to ask... I have treated domino with frontline but I am concerned that there might still be a few knocking about. I'm going to spray the house before tonight and hope that will be enough. If there anything else I can to to help avoid the kittens catching them?

Wash all the cats bedding in hot water and vacuum often.  If you have a flea collar put it in the vacuum bag.

Still no kittens from Domino. She has grown more affectionate the last couple of days and is licking me a lot. She still sleeps, eats and licks herself all day. As she was abandoned and I have no idea when she mated and I don't really know her usual behaviour. it's very difficult to know when it will happen. I though she must be ready when she adopted us, but nearly 2 weeks later she has just made herself at home and is eating like a horse. i will keep you all updated and send pictures when the kittens arrive.

So our very fat rescue cat had a very very tiny kitten this afternoon. He wasn't breathing so I took him from mum. Cleared his air ways and gave him some breaths. He's now with mummy cuddled up. I gave him a feed as I hadn't seen him nurse and a few hours had passed. Hopefully that's given him a bit of energy to find it himself now. They are curled up in the crate together so I don't want to disturb them again. its mother natures turn now. I'm just keeping everything crossed he makes it through the night.

Have you seen the little guy nurse yet? If he needs a boost, you can smear some honey on his gums. And he may need supplementing for a day or two if he's not strong enough to suckle well. I'd keep a close eye out.

I'm wondering if mom has more kittens to deliver eventually.
