Have you noticed how much warmer your local temps all of sudden feel?
This is actually a little cooler than it usually is for us at this time of year. We usually don't start cooling off until mid December.....

I think I saw a few palm trees out there.
You know what? If you look closely enough, you CAN see palm trees!! Is this what you saw too?

My only question is why is he sitting around and not fixing us a pitcher of margaritas?  You just can't find reliable mirages these days!

Can I have a nibble off him? Just a tiny one, I'm not greedy, I'll share. Yes, tall, dark and handsome, where did you find him?

Let's all get together and talk about people who can survive these wretched temps and conditions. We could have a party with drinks that have little umbrellas. We don't have the CLOTHES to survive in anything under 65F! I went to a fancy thrift store today and picked up a fancy coat with a faux fur lining $10.00! The outside is polished cotton/polyester so it is a bit waterproof.I won't freeze this winter when temps dip to low 40s! It must have belonged to someone who moved here from places where it is really cold and did not think she needed it here because it is "so warm', to her maybe, but not to me!
Wow, that's pretty nice cost even if it cost more than $10.

Forget the Margaritas! When is he going to get nekkid?

It will rain, rather heavily, this afternoon and going into tomorrow morning, I can hardly wait
Yeah, we go crazy here with joy when the winter rains have finally made an appearance. There is even a forecast for snow in the mountains, we take all we can get. Temps during the night was 49 and it won't go over 65 during the day, if that. Time to turn on the heat and breaking out the sweaters. That coat I just bought will come in really handy real soon.

Here it's wet snow on ground and on air, temp is around freezing.

My self made weather station (or beginnings of it) spits out these temps and humidity:
19:49:21;26.00;18.00;-0.25

19:49:21 time
26.00 (C) indoor temp at 0.5 meters down from ceiling, it is that high because I just burned some wood, also it is more than 10 degrees colder at knee level.
18.00 (%) relative humidity
-0.25 (C) outdoor temperature

Also my software calculates amount of water in air, it is 7.27g/m3 and total of 117,12g of water in whole room's air.

I will get outdoor humidity added to that when new parts arrive, also I'm trying to find manometer that would not cost arm and the leg, but most that I could hook up into my program seem to cost at least 40 or more.

That should help to figure out why at some days to keep temperature up it is needed to heat so much more than at other days while outside temperature meter shows similar readings.

for the rain.Temp hasn't gone over 52 and I've just turned on the heat, ready to put on a jacket or at least a sweater, it's
in here especially when one is not moving around but sitting here

yeah that show naked and afraid is for those who like survalist and science. They drop two strangers into tropics or other nasty environment. they have to survive for 21 days. Find food. Build shelter. Deal with depression that comes from being awake 24 hours a day from trying to not fall asleep and be prey. I have learned quite a bit from those shows. They usually make clothes out of the palm leaves or other foliage. They are allowed to bring I think 2 items each. usually they choose a knife and fire starter. Then the first day they hike into the area and build a shelter all the while trying to not sweat and overheat. I would be laying down in surrender after an hour of 85+ tropical air. YUCK.  don't forget the damn bugs that bite said arse. FORGET THAT! I am always trying to figure out the next step but to live in it-nope. I am too spoiled. Jon loves the woods and making things so him and I try to say what we would use for a shelter etc. or how to do the fire starter. the worst is when it rains.

Then at the end of 21 days they have to hike back out to the area on a map they are given. then get picked up via whatever can get in there-boat/airplane/jeep.

I love that show. there's another one where they have people by themselves and they are competing against each other=I think a team of 4 or 5 people? get dropped a mile away from each other=usually its Alaska or Canada. They have to see who can survive in the woods the longest but they get to wear clothing. I don't know about the rest of it. Jon was telling me about that show. He prefers that one.

I jokenly asked him last night hey you want to go do this? He looks at me like I had two heads..I said well you watched these shows for days..He says they were interesting but NO he wants heat. I said there's tons of trees. get chopping!! Plenty of heat with wood and a Woodstove. Hahaha.

I don't normally do reality shows because I could care less about the rich and famous but naked and afraid I enjoy to 1-learn about different parts of the world=like trees/animals/culture etc. and 2-I like to watch two people interact with total stranger=some people are very spoiled and have no clue how to work together. and 3=we (Jon n I) try to see who can figure out who is going to drop out and why. LOL.

It was foggy this morning. 40ish. I haven't been outside yet.  It was dark when I got to work and the sun is already setting. So no I haven't been out yet.

Thanksgiving day around 11ish it started snowing and stuck to the trees but then it warmed up and no snow hung around.

Our national met office shows feels like temperature being now 5 degrees, raw temp being 19 degrees, but with over 23mph gusts of wind it feels more like below 0 degrees and some windchill calculators show -17 degrees feels like temperatures.

Snow dunes and anything that has not been tied down enough well is moving around on yard.

Despite the cold, wind and heavy snowfall, I did install new cat door to front door so even most shy of kitties can now visit my warm room, also it makes feeding and serving fresh water much easier.

Oh yes, Siberia is sending some greetings to us again, temps are excepted to go down quite a bit after strong winds end.

Yesterday I did some work on ladders, water pouring on me (thanks to softshell clothing I had no issues of getting wet) from roof of the building while it was raining very wet snow, today ladders are frozen solid to ground as weather turned to colder.

This morning was 36 degrees. I felt cold still when I went out at 10 to get something at the store. It isn't raining but feels raw and cold. Definitely a heat needed day.

Jtbo=you need to invent some kind of defrosters for your ladder LOL. Or a good whack from a Hammer would help but it COULD break the ladder if it's cold enough. I jokenly say use a sledgehammer on it but it my luck would splinter it and then you will be out of a ladder...stay WARM and DRY!

One of the more enjoyable tv-series was Sledgehammer, which I have watched many times over, also I tend to pick sledgehammer when I need to hammer about anything, including nails, so perhaps you really should be careful about mentioning that word :lol3:

I need to do some more installation on that wall so I just let ladders be frozen, they won't slip that way.

Finally strongest winds are calming a bit, raw temp starting to get low 15's now. Cats have their own doors now, but they choose to set next to door and stare at me, when I open the door they go out and less than 1 minute later they come back in, then repeat, aren't they sweet creatures or what? :D
