We're supposed to get rain this afternoon; we'll see how that goes. Usually the storms have been dividing when they get to the mountain. Half goes north, half goes south. We get nothing. Or very little. There's rain out in western PA now. I hope we get some of it. Our overnight temp was 71 degrees. That's a little ridiculous, even for me!

I have to watch my rain dances now, I was really complaining that we never seem to get the rain, and it rained three inches in 25 minutes from a cloud that was about a block big! It washed a LOT of mud onto the lawn and rutted the hill we just got landscaped, so it meant 4 days of digging, raking, and hauling buckets of mud!

It is just absolutely beautiful right now, highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's, it could stay this way for all I care. The next three days are back in the 90's but then a week of beautiful weather again. Garden is great, tomatoes are the size of softballs and beautiful cantaloupe the size of footballs. I finally got some beautiful 'warty' pumpkins for my grandson, three are HUGE!! I would say two and a half feet tall, they are in the middle of the patch but you could easily use them for chairs. I have a lot of white ones too, and the gourds I let grow on my 'fallow'  area will easily count in the hundreds, I'm going to set up a stand out front and sell them. All in all, a great year!

It is absolutely beautiful outside: Windy, cool, in the 70's with a strong breeze from the ocean.. downright nice...

Windows open. It is too windy outside for Artie! He hates breezes! Crazy Cat..

Hopefully, we will get some rain tonight or tomorrow morning. We are desperately needing it. We are almost 8 inches below normal for rainfall.

We are in a drought! Seriously.. The governor is asking people to conserve.. He suggested a 5 minute shower ~~ idea not going over well, at all.

Just waiting for them to really declare water restrictions. There are some now..

It's very cool here in Chicago - mid  60's and sunny. It's a hint of fall. The house is open, and I've got a sweater on. We've had plenty of rain, so I will be heading outside to do some weeding and shrubbery shearing.

It's still the same old same old here, my garden is drying up, tomatoes are barely there, peppers are still good and the rhubarb has gotten its second wind, harvested all the grapes, trying my hand at wine this year, gotta start thinking of the winter garden: lettuce, cabbages, root crops, Swiss chard, onions ---

No August rain this year, we usually get some storms at this time of year, the drought is bad, fires all over California

We had a wonderful rain on Sunday when a cold front came through. We were down to around the mid-60s during the night and today our high is to only be around 75 or so. The humidity has really dropped and will stay down until Thursday when it starts to creep back up.

We moved DD back into the dorm on Friday and it was brutal. It was SO HOT. This was the 4th summer move in and the worst one yet. It should be the last one since she plans on doing grad school online. She brought less stuff this time than she ever has and it felt like more. It had to be in the upper 90's.

Woke up this morning to a gorgeous, cool, sun shining morning!! It is 72 degrees here, not a cloud in the sky! Very low humidity also!

We did have some rain last night. I heard the thunder, in the distance. When I looked out this morning, my outside chair still had some rain on it.

Much cooler here. Lying on my bed without a/c - open windows. My walk today was lovely because there was a strong breeze. Weekend is supposed to be 90 again, but that could change.

Hot today. It briefly rained and that just made the humidity go up. We do need the rain, though. I walked to town today and took the scenic way along the river. This is what the town dam in the square usually looks like:

Today it looked like this (view from the other side):

The water level is so low. No decent rain is expected anytime soon

I'm in Central Florida and it's utterly miserable here!  The heat is bad enough, but when it's combined with through-the-roof humidity it becomes unbearable.  What I wouldn't give for some snow!  I have no idea how I ended up in Florida.  I'm am definitely not a lover of the heat.

Connecticut is the same. Hottest July ever & August was the same. More hot days coming. Can't complain though since I dread the w.i.n.t.e.r.

Variable perhaps describes our weather best, extremes range from -40F to 90F (-40C to +32C) during the year, luckily not every year we get both of those extremes, but it can be 77F to 41F (25 to 5C) between days sometimes.

This summer season has been wet, there has not been many days between the rain and now about half of leaves from trees have fallen already and nights have been below 40F several times, starts to be best time of the year as weather cools bit more and warm days start to stay around 60F or below.

Sadly good part lasts only short time as then it starts to snow and snow is a bother, hopefully it does not rain so much during the winter than it has been raining during the summer.

50 degrees is best for bicycling and doing firewood and other physical tasks, so I would be happy if temps would be around 50 during the day and 30-40 during the night year around, however I don't think there is such place in a world without air becoming thin?

Back up into the heat and humidity. We're going to be close to 90 this weekend. It's really sticky and muggy.

It's 90 right now.  It's really dark and some thunder, time for the late afternoon thunderstorm.  It's supposed to be 90 again tomorrow.

I wouldn't be happy with temps around 50 F. My ideal place would be a high of 90F (but not every day) & a low of 65F. I'm sure Finland is lovely, but I could not live there.
