I thought she had Kardashian sized lips from all the kitten but want to check in with you guys. No sores present, uniform swelling. Two kittens are needing to be fed with syringe.

Have tennis elbow so typing sucks rocks.

Thanks

Can you post a picture?

I'm not sure why she can't nurse if her lips are swollen.  I am glad you have started feeding the kittens and not waited.

I am stating anything that is amiss in case its relevant. Because I am not sure what is going on? I am a postpartum doula so my background is in human issues.

I haven't hear of this.  Maybe some of our rescue people are around,  they see everything.  How is mom otherwise?

People come on the site at different times depending on where they live.  Keep checking the site for answers or your email for an alert to a response.

Hmm. Well 2 of her kittens are underweight and she doesn't stay with them enough to keep them warm. So I am going to the source, Mama and figuring it out. Thanks. R

On that photo she has closed eyes.  Its a coincidence, or does she has problems with keeping eyes open?   does she seem to  run a fever?

I mean, it may be something more than "just" swollen lips.   - do you have access to a good vet?

Does she manage to wash them good, or its too barely?   Does she take good care of the three others, and abandons just two, or does she go away from all 5?

Its fully possible you must be prepared to take charge and take care of all five, not just the two underweigh.   (how much do they weigh, btw?   What are you giving them, exactly?)

Warming source,  feeding, eliminating, the full works as in handraising an orphan...  With an tennis elbow...

Ps. I suppose you take something on the elbow, perhaps  a paste of painkiller.  Observe many of such painkillers are harmful for cats.  Be sure they dont have any chance to touch this elbow.  Be also sure you thoroughly dry off and wash your hands after putting on that paste...

Of course I have access to a good vet. Maybe I am not making myself clear because the last time I got 3 hours of sleep in a go was when my child was a newborn.

I am taking care of all the animals. I am feeding and keeping them warm and caring for our other cats, a dog and a autistic child. There is no 'paste' there is nerve pain. Tennis elbow
makes it so typing is excruciating. Even clicking on a mouse is like being electrocuted. I am reaching out for help and compassion.

Her eyes are just closed in the photo. I am not a photographer so I am not good at taking photos, of black cats.

She cleans them. I don't know if she has a fever.

People are just asking questions to get all the details.  It is easy to tell you are taking good care of your mom and her kittens.  You wouldn't be looking for answers if you didn't care.  We don't want to give bad advice.

My first thought was an allergic reaction to something.  Did you offer a different food or something oral. It could be a new detergent her blankets were washed in.  My cat's paw swells when he gets stung there.   This isn't normal for a cat to give birth to have swollen lips.  If she is a first time mom it will take 24 - 48 hours before she settles into the routine.  The hormones need to kick in.

As Stefanz mentioned any lotion or topical cream you put on could effect your cat.

A call to your vet might be a good idea if the swelling doesn't go down or she shows other symptoms.  Is she eating ok?  If it is an allergic reaction if could effect her tongue and throat.

Keep us updated.

My first thought, and only clue really would also be an allergic reaction to something.

I highly suggest a vet at this time, she really should be examined, and might need a shot of benedryl.
