Yesterday I found a fluid filled nodule on Charlie's chin area. I have not noticed it before. It's about the size of a pencil eraser head. I posted in another group and they thought it was feline acne. I have had Cats with it but they never had anything like this.

I noticed this morning that further up by his cheek bone is a fresh blood scab. Maybe from scratching?

He acts fine otherwise. It doesn't seem to hurt him when I examine it. It's strictly on the skin tissue.

I do have a vet appointment July 20th. Hoping it's nothing. Prayers that it's harmless please.

What do you think?

It could be a rodent ulcer or chin acne or it could be something else.  As long as he is eating and not scratching at it, you should be okay until your appt.  Let us know what the vet says.

Maybe a spider bite. If so it will get better in a day or so. If not a vet might need to look at.

An abscess maybe? If so they'll drain it and give him some antibiotics.

Others have mentioned a rodent ulcer too.  He does have food allergies.  But the food they are on now is a limited ingredient diet by natural balance. So who knows. The biggest ingredient is peas and pea fiber.  His poop has become very stinky as well. We do have lots of different spiders, centipedes, and other bugs in the basement. I live in a rural area so it is possible it could be some sort of centipede bite or spider bite.  I had one cat eat a centipede about 10 years ago and she kept gagging. The vet had to give her benedryl because she had an allergic reaction to it :\

I am going to have to reschedule his appointment that was for the 20th.  I usually get out at 3pm on Wednesdays but it's not a set in stone schedule it can change.  They need me to work until 4pm and then 6:30 I have CPR class for work.  So to get to his 5pm appointment I'd have to infract the speed limit quite a bit. And it always takes me time to get him into a carrier because he is skittish.  I have to lure him into a room that he can't find places to hide that might take a bit, and then grab him and put him in a carrier.  I'll have to call tomorrow and see if they can get him in Friday or possibly Saturday. I was kind of hoping that if it was some type of cyst it would pop all on it's own. But it hasn't and he is rubbing the area where it is on everything.  So it must itch a little. It feels smooth and round.

Hopefully it's nothing.

Hey there. I found a nodule just like this on my cat's chin too. Did you ever find out what it was and did it go away?
