Good morning!
And Happy Friday! I'm ready for the weekend!

Easy question this morning: Do you (or will you) eat leftovers?

We do. No problem. Rick takes leftovers in his lunch quite a bit. Sometimes I will cook for leftovers and throw them into the freezer, then we'll eat from the freezer for a while.

I eat leftovers often.  Now that it is usually just me when I do cook there are leftovers.

Depends. if I cook extra of something I'll eat it for the rest of the week or freeze some for later meals. If Mom has leftovers, I may or may not take any home to reheat for later dinners. Mom's not the best cook and food is usually overcooked and super salty and generally flavorless

Sometimes but not too often. I usually cook just enough for us.

I only cook extra for us if I'm using the crock pot or, a large pot on the stove like for pulled pork, soup, meatballs, etc.  I don't mind freezing those items for later use.

Sometimes. it depends on what the food is and more often than not, it's just me and the furkids at home so when I cook something, I only make enough for that one meal. If I make something in the crock pot, I will freeze it in portions and then eat them at a later time. I'm not a huge fan of leftovers in general though.

I will eat leftovers the next day; possibly the add the following day also. That means a total of 2 days. Only when I really like something.

Usually I eat leftovers the next day and then freeze the rest. For some reason, I forget about them in the freezer...so I really do toss the rest out.

That does not apply to pizza!! I can eat pizza for the entire week!!

Pizza for breakfast, snack, supper.. and again the next day, until it is gone!!

I have to limit myself on it. I will have pizza for supper, and leave a couple slices out for the next day. The rest I freeze. I love having pizza in the freezer, for a quick meal.

Most definitely. We eat it until it is gone. Sometimes I put things in the freezer and we reheat. If we had a yard dog, he would starve if he depended on leftovers. :lol3:

I always cook enough for 5 to 6 meals which gives 3 days meals. Jon loves leftovers as long as no icky veggies.

I usually make food on the grill or bake it. Lately with the heat-we just make sandwiches but I miss a homecooked meal. Just too hot to run the oven.

It's almost time to make a container of potato salad-he can eat that morning noon and night. I love pizza too. Especially when I let it sit out in the **** then rebake it so its crispy on the crust. I don't mind left overs as long its something I made and like. Meatloaf only lasts one day here. I make meatloaf sandwiches with mayo and I could eat the entire pan of meatloaf. Just eggs n breadcrumbs with onion/pepper/mushrooms=yum!

Its been awhile since I baked a turkey. we didn't do one last winter like we usually do. I usually make soup and freeze it-it goes good with bread n butter! I just have to stay away from food! I am always hungry!

Pizza is always good!

It's one of my favorite leftovers! We'll eat it the next day or sometimes, I'll freeze slices.  They do surprisingly well frozen and reheated in a very hot oven.

We do, if it is something that re-warms without damaging the texture.  I'll eat leftover grilled chicken or pork chops, soup, chili, things like that.  But if it is a food that goes tough and chewy in the microwave, no.

I'm like @sivyaleah, normally I only cook enough for the one meal.  Hubby is often not home until bedtime, and sometimes I don't know until the last minute, so I try to cook things that re-warm easily, or things that won't get tough after sitting warming until he does come in.  If he isn't home, I'll eat leftovers or even a bowl of cereal sometimes and he grabs something at work or on the way home.  Not the healthiest I know, but we are always running with our jobs.

@Artiemom    We are the same about pizza!  But I like to reheat in the oven and not the microwave.  I can't eat it cold.  When I was younger yes, but something about the cold cheese/grease, well.....my tummy doesn't handle it quite the way it used to.   I will eat fried chicken cold though!  I've just decided we are ordering pizza for supper tonight and it's made me hungry for pizza right now!!

Oh yeah!  We often make meals out of leftovers, and depending on the food, I vacuum pack some things for freezing.

I actually like some things better as leftovers. Leftover chili is awesome---the flavors meld so much more after it's been in the fridge overnight. Spaghetti is better the next day, too, if you mix the sauce and noodles and refrigerate it that way. I like to eat it cold :D. I also like cold lasagna. Much less floppy than hot lasagna, lol. Roasted veggies that have been refrigerated are sooo good.

Sometimes I'll eat something for dinner and then make something else entirely just for leftovers!

i have absolutely no problem eating leftovers. any meal i cook, i make enough for at least several days worth of lunches. it's just me i'm cooking for, and i like that i can cook once and then just reheat for pretty much the rest of the week.

Well, I certainly WILL eat them, but I live alone (except for Hekitty of course), and cook just enough for one meal at a time, generally.  When I make Shepherd's Pie, though, it will feed me for four meals.  And when I was married with two teenage boys and a husband who ate like a teenag boy, leftovers were nothing more than a myth.

Yes, I live alone , well expect martha but she dosnt like lasagne or cottage pie it makes her emit stink bombs, lol. But I like lasagne and cottage pie but I am never as hungry as I initially think Iam so a big plate of lasagne/cottage lie can last several days. And a tub of ben and jerrys last mmmmm 10 minutes .

I'm getting better at eating leftovers.  DH comes home for lunch and has leftovers.  When we have burgers and/or brats we make extras for lunches and I make enough chili to last a week for lunches.

I love pizza, now I want pizza too!

I'm partially disable and it is difficult for me to cook. Sometimes when I'm out I will pick up a large pizza and freeze most of it. That way I usually have pizza in the freezer whenever I want it.  I get quite a few meals out of it.

I also eat leftovers when I have them.

Yes, we always eat leftovers. My husband often gets to them before me but sometimes I cook enough for lunch too.
