Is it possible to tell if there's fluid in the abdomen without imaging diagnostics?

Two of our fosters sibling died of (potentially) FIP. I wanna keep an eye on the others if possible.

Distended or taunt abdomens can be a sign of fluid.
Other than that, I don't know of anything, and even that isn't necessarily a sign of fluid....that could jut be gas. I'd check with the Vet and see if there are any specific signs, but I honestly don't think there is anything definitive.
